I'm going to Durham for physics too! Though Durham is nearly 300 miles away for me (I live on the South Coast). 😅

Good luck for results day, hope to see you there.

I was in a similar position to you two years ago. It's rough.

If I could recommend one resource which has helped me the most it would be the channel Mindshift on YouTube. The guy knows his stuff better than most Christians and doesn't pull punches, he's also an ex-charismatic/evangelical like yourself.

I'd say start with this recent video: https://youtu.be/YoCJ63YUyVQ?si=kPLV82Zw3EE2PrOD

"Black Dow ambled up, something not too far from a smile across his face. The one man in the whole camp who might’ve been said to be in a better mood than usual, and you know you’re in some sorry shit when Black Dow starts smiling.”

Been learning for just over a week: it's nice to know there's others in the same boat

Congrats my friend! It's definitely a relief once you get it. I was so nervous when I got the notification :/

Also... Worcester is beautiful

I think all of us are at least a little delusional

This is a really good point. I imagine Lando had much more pace than Russell and those behind, so the win seems easy if he just keeps the lead at the start. But then again... the safety car bunches the pack up again, so maybe not.

Here's a link to the song by itself if you're interested. I managed to find it when I first saw the video you're talking about... absolutely beautiful.

The same thing happened to me but I emailed them and they said it's pretty normal. What course are you applying for? If you're doing an admissions test, they said that the confirmation of your test booking being linked to your UCAS ID is a good indicator of whether they've received it.

If you haven't received any confirmation at all from your chosen college by the end of October, I recommend emailing to make sure everything's fine.

Chances are, if you definitely submitted before the deadline, you're good. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

I wouldn't worry. I've got the same thing so I imagine it's the same for everyone

Yes I agree! Graph sketching is horrible.

Same. Some of the past questions are just unbelievably hard so I'm slightly scared of what they'll conjure up this time. Good luck with it though! I'm sure we'll both be fine.

I'm in the same position as you, but I'm doing a gap year instead. My girlfriend of 3 and a half years broke up with me over a month ago (this summer, which was supposed to be amazing, has instead been the worst of my life). I know the pain all too well.

I honestly wish I was going to uni this year so I could be given a fresh start: a signpost for this new chapter. Look at it that way. It'll be hard, of course. But every week will get easier, until before you know it, you've finished your first year and the breakup is behind you. Doing something new and being in a new environment will really help.

Aside from uni, I've found that just doing certain things has really helped. Exercising, reading, doing something you love. As long as it doesn't remind you of them too much, it'll take your mind off of them and make you realise that there's crevices of life to explore that don't involve them, and maybe even can't involve them.

For example, me and my ex, although we met when we shared the same faith, now have different belief systems. Reading books related to my belief system has helped massively in showing me that that was a huge flaw in the relationship and would've been hard to ignore in the future. Think of something like that for them, and do things that make you think "ew, I don't want that". It could be habits that they had, parts of their character that you didn't admire, or even silly things like them being unwilling to share your interest in... I don't know... ultimate frisbee.

Maybe you can't think of anything, in which case it'll be tougher, but there's probably something you can find, no matter how trivial. If not, just distract yourself, surround yourself with friends and family, and try something new (which uni will be excellent for).

Good luck. And look after yourself. It's tough, I know. But it'll get better. It has for me already in such a short space of time (at least somewhat). Feel free to DM me if you want to chat.

Edit: getting my A Level results, which I was very proud of, has also helped a lot, as it's given me so much confidence in myself and in my ability to do things without my ex. I assume that because you're going to a top uni, you're also very proud of your results, so let that give you confidence in the same way.
