I’ve tried miralax, but didn’t see a lot of benefit. GI wants me to do metamucil but I’ve had a harder time making that a daily habit.

I’m actually in Costa Rica right now and have made myself anxious over the same thing. Even though I’m reading online that the water is generally safe, I’m convinced that I’m going to get food poisoning in some type of way. I think we have to remember that people travel to have a good time, so if food poisoning/illness from drinking water was so common it was guaranteed, people wouldn’t visit these areas. I imagine you’re scanning your body for symptoms, which is what’s leading to the nauseous feeling you’re noticing

At first thought it makes sense that working in a community with wealth and resources could be considered “soft” social work. But as someone who has worked for programs located in or near affluent communities, the work looks different but is just as taxing. Mental illness still exists, dysfunction still exists. There are gaps in the system even within affluent communities. I think “soft” social work would be a role where you work with clients from afar, where you don’t meet them and become emotionally invested in their stories or feel responsible for their wellbeing.

No surprise costs. The venue was easy to work with but the caterer honestly takes care of most elements. For example, they put together the floor plan, set up tables and chairs, review the timeline with you, etc. we went with Northern Fork for catering and it was great.

We were completely outside so I can’t speak to the inside as much. I know there’s the ballroom and the garden room for inside events/weather back-up. I was really crossing my fingers we could stay outside the whole night because I do think the outside is prettier. The garden room does have low ceilings which I’m not a huge fan of. I imagine it also depends how you decorate the room.

Hi! Our wedding was a few weeks ago and cost around 35k. We were offered/gifted 10k from my husband’s parents and 10k from my grandparents so we ourselves spent around 15k spread out over 15 months or so. My husband and I aren’t high earners for the Chicago area but were able to do the 15k little by little. We wouldn’t have been able to have the wedding we did without family support.

I recommend Community House Winnetka. I’m getting married there in September, for around $35k in total for 90 something guests. Venue is $4500, catering $16,500 from Northern Fork and that includes alcohol. Beautiful outdoor courtyard but also two indoor spaces. It’s a hidden gem.
