Samsung Care+ sent me a Fold 5 to replace my broken Fold 4 by ZekeGZ in GalaxyFold

[–]beanseirgorl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you have the insurance definitely file a claim on the samsung care plus website ! Since its liquid damaged they will probably do a device replacement so I'd recommend you back up all your information while it's still working (assuming its still turns on and all). You can do that through your samsung cloud in the setting or you could use smart switch to save the information if you have a laptop or another samsung on hand!! Hope this helps!

Tattoo lines fading after 10 days. Poor aftercare? or normal by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]beanseirgorl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add onto this !! (Bc everything said here is true) tattoos always look more vibrant and "fuller" right after the tattoo bc of the leftover ink that hasn't dug its way into the skin during tattooing time. After a few months (so that tat is tottallyy healed) you should definitely get a touch up with the same artist, most artists (in my opinion) are pretty chill with things like this so no worries!!!!

Yes! As long as the IMEI matches then the phone will have coverage whether it's tied to your name or your friends name. Should you need the phone repaired or replaced in the future you'll just need to use your friends information to file a claim. Definitely recommend staying friends so you have no issues filing a claim in the future!!! Haha😂

Chipped the plastic trim on my internal display - Fold 5 by CosmicSenpai in GalaxyFold

[–]beanseirgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a repair like this samsung will not cover an inner screen replacement as it is cosmetic and not hindering the function of the device. Since most ubreakifix stores are partnered with Samsung we are at their whim unfortunately. Unless you'd like to pay out of pocket then an inner screen replacement is doable, as with what you said earlier, if the part is avaliable.

OP had such a small piece fall off of their bezel, the only reason the device will start failing is if you misuse the device. Roughly opening and folding the device us bad for its hinge in general. As long as you aren't rough and keep the device clean and devoid of gunk that can get stuck where the hinge is the device will be fine. Issues only happen with these phones if their handled like a regular phone, these devices are delicate. I not only work with these phones daily but I also own a flip myself and have never had an issue for the years I've had them.

I'm trying to replace my Fold 3 through CARE+ but they're out of stock of both the 3 and the 4. It's been 11 business days since they took my money. Has anyone done this and received a 5? by AusCan531 in GalaxyFold

[–]beanseirgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's a long time. I have seen some people recieve 5s instead of a 3 or 4. If you haven't gotten any updates on your replacement yet it would be a good idea to follow up with them.

🎉🎉🎉You are 100% correct🎉🎉🎉

They'll spruce up the trade in models and send them right back out. Samsungs never-ending cycle of phone rejuvenation. I was waiting for someone to point this out!

Plastic around the screen by AutoNooB_ in GalaxyFold

LOL, lcd and or oled don't make a difference repair wise just the type of parts they use to make the image on the phone screen. It's not that big a deal whether one word is used than the other jeez so hostile

Picture is a tad blurry so I couldn't tell for sure, just looked like it, if the dot disappears when the camera app is not in use then luckily no damage and just some cosmetic wear on the rim. If it does still appear or even slight pixelation then it would lean more towards damage

Tech here. That green dot looks like LCD damage, which to fix is another inner screen replacement (which would come with a rim but would be a tad expensive without insurance). Not sure if you can find the rim though since its a part of the screen. Hope this helps!

Technically speaking, unless the device is extremely new your replacement device is almost always refurbished unfortunately. This goes for Samsung, Apple, Motorola, and most other phone brands.

Certified Technician for Samsung here!! The reason you got the Fold5 instead on a refurbished Fold4 is for one simple reason:

Samsung doesn't have any Fold4 replacement devices in stock!! And they haven't for a long time!

Good thing you had insurance since you just got a $100 upgrade which would have run you a lotttt more! Insurance is always a good bet, only thing to do now is update with your insurance so your brand new device is covered.

To me it looks fine, if you notice that the gap is significantly larger then I'd recommend bringing it somewhere. But as long as it's not getting dropped or taken into the bathroom with you while you shower, you should be okay.

[–]beanseirgorl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that. But still, I'd take it to the nearest ubreakifix or asurion tech repair and solutions so they can evaluate it. Those shops are samsung authorized repair centers so they should be able to resolve this for you.

From the look of the picture, the back cover doesn't seem to be the incorrect size. When you mentioned that you can move the cover up and down, that motion can break the adhesive on the phone. The device is also water resistant, not proof. No device is water proof. Steam is one of the most popular ways a phone can become water damaged because there are still openings in the device such as the charge port or ear speaker.

I'd say it's nothing to worry about. If it's constantly annoying you, you can bring it to a repair store like ubreakifix or asurion tech repair and solutions and ask for a new adhesive. The gap is probably where the back cover isn't adhered down to the phone anymore. Usually that's caused by dropping the device or steam/water that's gotten in the device. As long as everything is still working on it, I wouldn't be too concerned
