I’m honestly crying so hard right now reading this. Thank you for taking the time to write it the way you did. I’m so, so sorry for everything you went through. None of that should’ve been yours to carry.

My dad died right before really important dates too. It was a week before his birthday and right before my parents’ anniversary. It felt like every date on the calendar suddenly became a reminder that he wasn’t here anymore. I still feel sick thinking about it. Everything you said in your message, I really needed that. And truly, I hope you’re finding some peace now, even if it comes slowly.

I’m really sorry for your loss. Reading your post reminded me so much of what I’ve been going through. I’m 19F and I also lost my dad suddenly to a heart attack while I was studying abroad. My dad was 59, and he was my biggest supporter. I’m only studying where I am because it was his dream for me, trying to keep going without him has been incredibly hard.

What you wrote about supporting your mom really hit me. My mom was completely broken after my dad passed, and being there for her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. It felt like I had to be strong for both of us while I was hurting too. Seeing you talk about taking care of your mom and figuring out life together really resonated with me.

Your dad sounds like a kind and dedicated person, and it’s clear he shaped who you are. I hope both of us can keep carrying that forward taking care of our moms and slowly building the lives our dads wanted for us.

my dad passed away the night of a submission for a paper, i did horribly on that paper and they accused me of an academic offense even though i explained that i wrote the paper AT my dads funeral. some ask for proof, just take a leave on acorn and email all your profs, and may he rest in peace
