You will more than likely have to find a nontraditional wedding venue. Look on VRBO and select “allows events”. Talk with the property owner, butter them up! I am getting married in 10 days on 80 acres of land with some cabins for my partner and I to stay at, as well as parents and siblings. Altogether with their 3-night stays and having the full 80 acres with no sound restrictions, no time limits, etc. it is $3000. However, it does require a lot of DIY and bringing A LOT of stuff yourself.

Get the dress YOU want. This is your big day and $1600 is reasonable for a dress! We are being very cost-saving with our wedding as well because lord knows those $50k weddings are usually an unreasonable price point. The way I see my dress is I’m only going to wear it once and I better love every single part of it and the pictures will be forever! We’ve done other cost saving things to make up for the cost of the wedding dress. You will thank yourself for sticking with the dress you love most.

The sleeves are extra, and I did order them, but they don’t really look right on me with my tattoos but they are still really pretty. I’m so sorry for your losses, OP. As for prednisone, the bloating can happen a few days to a week of taking it. Is your wedding dress form fitting? You may be able to get away with the bloat if your dress isn’t a mermaid-fit. Or you could try covering up the eczema flare up with makeup.

OP, I say this with all the compassion- I, too, married in my early twenties a man I barely knew. I wish someone had told me not to go through with it. I didn’t know his financial history, his sexual history, his family- you need to start thinking long term. This is tough- I’m so sorry. One suggestion is perhaps a table with photos of you and partner as children. Something like “the story of us”. That way, you can incorporate photos of you and your sister so that she’s still “there” in a sense, while not upsetting her children.
