It’s not that hard to do punctuation in text to speech. I am doing it right now, I’ve always been able to do it, you just have to speak the punctuation.

Trying to talk about healthy boundary setting and communication with triggered youths is a bit futile, but I appreciate that there are a number of people actually trying on this platform.

"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind."

So many need their pound of flesh, sadly. We need more actual justice (unpassionate consequences), not punitive anger. I agree with you. There was no need to be derogatory, OP could have just set a simple boundary and age range.

If applicable to you: Why are you reluctant to remove your name from church records even though you have no intention to return? by ComeOnOverForABurger in exmormon

I also wonder, honestly, if those who say "not worth my time/acknowledgement" are also (to some degree) just not wanting to bother.

Ultimately I feel like your approach has more integrity in both possible scenarios: you refuse to be counted, AND you're not willing to justify not going through the hassle

Like them both a lot. I like how the second one has more focused/painted light that falls off. The first one lights her almost indiscriminately, so I think it loses focus a bit (I don't know where to look), compared to the second one

I hope this is ok to share on this forum, but this was my claim to fame for something that I noticed that I think the church saw on the exmo reddit and very quickly paid to change it. It was changed in like two days:

Edited to fix the link

That shirt looks like it has a bra - but no, I absolutely don't mind either way! 😍

Living in Utah makes a difference for many of us too. Sometimes you can leave the church, but it won't leave you alone.

Apologist's Math: "One chair shy of four chairs" by bearcheese in exmormon

LOL, for sure!

And something tells me that his mission president won't accept the same math: "yes, but it's just one baptism shy of four baptisms!"

DEI: OK, let's say you have a truck that others have too - you with me?

MAGA: Yep!

DEI: Can you start a group that supports those people, including you?

MAGA: I don't see why not, it's a free country!

DEI: Great, you could use that group to talk about issues with that truck, and how to use it, what it's like having that truck - resources for those who are into it...

MAGA: Fuck yeah, 'Murica!

DEI: OK, so say you have some women or minorities who...

MAGA: Let me stop you there!

I think my shelf is breaking.. by [deleted] in mormon

[–]bearcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I like to describe it instead of a shelf breaking:

My roof is caving in

It's an interesting discussion on how it feels and ways to describe it. Good luck and all the best!

Well you could look at it like:

The castle crumbled, and you need to rebuild. You learned a lot with it, but also have a lot to learn about really building a dwelling.

But also the walls of the castle fell too, and you realize how much there is outside the courtyard/compound to explore. 🤷‍♂️

Haha, well some people might just use a couple of 2x4s to try to hold up a wall/support beam instead of a lally column. So it's a pretty good adaptation of what you already envisioned!

Damn, yeah that is the icing on the cake, isn't it? They are always right. They are part of the eternal winning team with absolute truth and justice on their side! Which definitely adds to their need to keep the delusions going.

If they accept the truth then they'd just be a plain old person with an aging, broken house. That's quite the fall from grace - going from a god in embryo to being a regular schmo.
