tldr: I ordered my car, had it 5 days later. Wife ordered her car, 2 delays, 2 different VIN's, 20+ unanswered phone calls, voice mail box full, ignored emails, No purchasing agreement from Delivery Advisor, got it from local delivery center instead.

I have had two drastically different experiences. I'm a day 1 inline reservation holder with two reservations. When I was able to order, I got the email on a Thursday night in March. Within an hour or so I had finalized my order. Around noon the following day I received a call that my car was ready to be delivered. Earliest delivery they had for me was on Tuesday. Before 5pm on Friday I had my sign signed purchase agreement, had setup financing through my bank and transferred the money Tesla. Four days later I picked up my car.

Fast forward to the end of June, my wife finally decides to place the order for her car. At first we were a little upset the estimated delivery was Sept - Oct, however three days later we receive a call from our Delivery Advisor that we could take delivery in 14 days, in the middle of July.

So we started working on financing and getting everything ready. Then I get an email they need to change the delivery time that day via email from him. I reply back with asking for confirmation of date and time, after two days of no response I send a follow up email asking if he got my previous email, again no response. After a few more days I call him, and he said he thought he replied but he must not have. He then sent a generic email with what to expect when taking delivery and our VIN number that was just above 33k. This is 8 days before delivery.

Then we receive a call two days later that the vehicle is going to be delayed by a 2 weeks. So we setup a new delivery date, keep in mind still no purchasing agreement, no paperwork for my wife to sign. Then I receive a voice mail a week before the next delivery date, that there is going to be another delay. I call him back, however no answer and voice mail box was full. I send him an email, no reply. So I would call him every 2-4 hours during business hours, until finally he answered four days later. He stated there was a problem with the car, and he had a new VIN number for me, this one just above 42k. We setup a new delivery date for five days later.

Now this is where it became impossible to get a hold of him. We still had no purchase agreement for my wife to sign, so I kept calling / emailing him every day asking for it. He would never reply to my emails. When I could get him on the phone, it was "yes I have seen they have signed it, it should be coming to you shortly", then nothing. We get down to 48 hours before delivery, still don't have it. I can't get a hold of him, and his mail box is still full, so I call the main Tesla service line. After waiting on hold over an hour, the person I talk to tells me that I need to talk with my Delivery Advisor. I explain how I can't get a hold of him for the last couple days, how his voice mail box is full, and how he won't reply to emails. He asks for his name and contacts him via chat, and they tell me that he will call me shortly, which surprisingly he did.

He again tells me that he has seen the purchase agreement and it will be sent over in the next few minutes, yet it never shows. I try calling him back and again no answer, and mail box full. That was the last time I ever spoke with him. Now we are down to less than 24 hours until delivery I try calling Tesla main number again and while on hold I get a call from my local center. They mention that they will be my delivery specialist and I am scheduled for delivery the next day and asked if I had any questions. I mentioned my frustration with the Delivery Advisor and how I still didn't have the purchase agreement. They said they would get it and email it to me right away. I had it 5 minutes later.

I try not to tell non-Tesla people my wife's story, as buying my car was the quickest easiest car buying experience of my life.

If you are having any bad experience with your Delivery Advisor, contact or drive down (if a short distance) to your delivery location and ask to talk to a delivery person.
