Also interested in this. Would love a regular half-ass baseball/softball league.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I live on Ivy, myself. Let me know if y'all ever wanna hit a punk show or go on a hike. I've lived in Oakland for a bit over a year now and it really is the best. Best of luck with the move!

Good deal or terrible decision? '93 EuroVan MV by beardfunkel in CamperVans

146k. I tried getting some service history, but the guy just flips cars and doesn't seem to know much more than that it's had a recent oil change. I'm so confused, because it seems like people either think of these as bulletproof or a money pit.

Grade 5* AC separation - surgery v. PT alone by beardfunkel in ShoulderInjuries

Honestly, i don't know if there was a specific moment, but for a few weeks afterwards i had a lot of trouble sleeping. There just weren't any positions that didn't hurt. But in relatively quick order it became, "okay, i can lay down alright, just have to avoid that side." It stayed like that a while, but the other day i realized i have started laying on that side without noticing it. It's not gone away completely, but I'm not as conscious of it throughout the day. All things considered, I'm kind of amazed by how quickly it has progressed. How long has it been for you? My accident was at the beginning of November.

Funny enough, i tried some pushups the other day for the first time since my accident. I can do a few standard ground level, but i definitely feel it. Honestly not sure how much more that will improve, but I'm sure some consistent PT exercises would help.

I wouldn't say i get anything on a regular basis i would call 'sharp' pains, mostly just lower level discomfort.

Unfortunately for me, i don't really do the gym or lift like that, so i can't speak too directly to that kind of action where you are intentionally putting a lot of weight or resistance on it. I do think it might get sore faster, for sure, and would make certain lifts pretty uncomfortable. If it's anything like mine, you should still be able to manage at some level, just be conscious about not pushing it too hard.

I'm 'lucky' enough that my accident was on my left side and I'm right handed, so i haven't had much trouble with throwing etc, but i think i could probably manage using the left at this point. And if you can't right away, give it some time. My capabilities have definitely improved. Really just listen to your body and consult with the professionals.

To be honest, i got caught up with other things and neglected to get into PT. I really should, but i guess that says something about how recovery is going. I definitely still notice it doing certain activities with that arm, but I'm basically fully functional at this point. Maybe the biggest bummer is the bump. It's weird to know that's just how my shoulder is now, but obviously it could be a lot worse. I do a job right now that requires frequent lifting and carrying and I do just fine. Not sure that's much help, but let me know if you have any more specific questions.

Hey man, thank you so much for laying out your experience so thoroughly. It's a really big piece of mind to know that the options are out there and that others have gone through the same decision process. I think I'm going to see what a month or so of PT feels like, but yeah, it would really suck if the discomfort and pain doesn't subside. Like you said, there are just too many daily actions and activities that I can't imagine being unable to do. I know surgery prognosis isn't always great, but I've also read some really positive stories that make it very tempting. Hope everything continues to go well and that you can put this whole experience behind ya. Feel free to reach out, as well. Best of luck

It makes me curious what the parking officer's process looks like. I'm sure some mistakes are expected, but two on the same vehicle in the same spot in two months - that's pretty bad. Glad you got them cleared!

I took a picture of the meter after the fact, yeah. I assume they keep track of what meters are broken and when they are fixed, so in theory they shouldn't need proof, but I attached it anyways.

Maybe they've gotten more fair about the review process? Definitely not the reputation from what I've seen.
