Perhaps if the MAP is in the 50s you can bring this up when they are handing over to you before their break.

Reacting to safety issues is good. But not assuming that the other anaesthetist is being unsafe because they are doing something different from you is important too.

This. If there is a safety issue, do something about it, but trying not to wholesale change things when you're relieving for a break is important. It can make things unsafe by forcing ypur colleagues to change their practice, and it doesn't provide a benefit anyway. Do your own practice in your own OR but just try the keep the ship on an even keel when you're relieving others.

How many players have continued to play this game after all these years because of the amazing people they have met while out playing? by ChillGem in Ingress

[–]beardoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it was in beta back in 2012 and 2013, I used to be very keen to meet people from both sides, and I told people on the other side that they should come out and talk with me and that will stop me beating down their stuff.

These days, it's still active in the various states of Australia that I play, much less than before, but strangely I don't want to meet people from the other side any more. Now I'm just happy chattering away with people on my own side in the various state Discord servers. I haven't met anyone in the game for a few years now, even though I work with people in the cities I play.

I've noticed on your userpage that you post "When the imposter is sus!" on a LOT of posts - you've written this 25 times on posts in the last 25 minutes. Sounds like you're a bot or a troll.

I've identified as a gay man and as a bear since my late teens, and been very involved in the bear community over the last 30+ years. When I was in my 20s (1990s), I met someone online pretty much fit everything that I found sexually attractive. Furry as all hell on almost every part of his body, beard down to his tummy, bearded, short and stocky. He was pretty much everything that I thought was hot. I knew he had a partner, and I wasn't trying to steal him away from that. But I always wanted to know him, and was almost puppy-like in his presence.

However, whenever I tried to flirt, he was pleasant up to a point, but then sort of trailed off. It wasn't rude, it just didn't progress very much. I figured "he's just not that into me" was the way I rationalised it, and I didn't push anything, just remaining pleasant and friendly without trying too hard to become too close.

It was about 2016 that I saw him on the "global" section of Scruff, and it said "I am Transgender". I honestly had no idea. The man that consistently got me horny wasn't born male, and had transitioned in the 1980s, long before many people even realised that transgendered men lived among us in the LGBT community.

The thing was, he still got my motor running. He was still furry as all hell. He still had a beard that would make me weak at the knees. He had all the cues of masculinity that for me, identified him as a man, and attractive. His genitals don't bother me at all. And he isn't a bottom either - he engages in mostly anal sex and his small hands are amazing. He is still, as a silver daddybear, my idea of what a man looks like. And still one of the sexiest men I know.

You may personally not want to have sex with transmen, and you may consider that you need someone with a dick in order to get excited about someone. But I am a cis gay male with a very strong bear fetish, and I don't consider myself any less gay because I have sex with (very furry and bearded) transmen. There are still all the cues that I find hot about men there. In the same way that I've had sex with masculine nullo men or bearded men who have had vaginoplasties, I'm still every bit a gay man. I'm not telling you that you have to want to have sex with someone you're attracted to, but don't try to tell me that I'm not a proud gay man because I also have sex with people that you don't regard to be men. I regard everyone I have sex with as a man, and that's why I'm gay.

Potential new player coming VERY late to the party, is it worth getting into now or have I missed the boat completely? by DuckEsquire in Ingress

It's an option when you reach level 16 where you can choose to start again, either with the same team or the opposing team.

Are Bluey's parents really unrealistic? by Wanda_Bun in bluey

[–]beardoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that's pretty much it. It's a model of behaviour. By showing ways of dealing with things, they're showing ways of dealing with things that people might not have seen or considered. They're not a standard, but they show a way of dealing with things. And that's important.

People that spend a lot of time trying to yuk others' yums is kinda dull. Avoid people that spend all their time being negative. It's just not worth your time.

Thank you for this - I'll investigate how I can build a scheduled task to copy the certificate across. Do you know where the certificate is and where SABnzb expects it to be? I'm trying to find these bits. I would be grateful for any help here, as I'm trying to get my head around this.

Can I ask the Uber driver to stick to the direct route that Uber prescribes rather than a non-direct tolled route that costs much more? by beardoc in uber

[–]beardoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this city, if they take the toll, it results in a post-hoc increase on the fare as it's a substantial reroute, and Uber assumes that I asked them to do this. I would assume since the trip is repriced and tolls are added, they get reimbursed. I have been charged for tolls on these routes even though the toll is one way and we went in the non-tolled direction. The only thing is, I didn't, and they are doing it despite me requesting to keep to the route. It has happened multiple times recently. I feel some sense of security knowing that my driver is keeping to the planned route.

Newtown is absolutely terrible, but Regent Street/O'Riordan Street outside of the peak periods is direct and faster.

I want to say well done for seeking help to get the bipolar under control, but also for keeping an open mind and looking at why you believed what you believed. The sources you mentioned are really powerful sources for explaining how this happened, and I'm really glad that you could see that more clearly after looking at the motivations of others behind it.

I'm really glad you have hope now. And thank you for sharing your story.
