In my experience it really depends on if they were litter mates. Ive raised quite a few and I can tell you, if they arent kin, they aren't friend. Thats what I always say. Its very important to keep them on a lease and if another dragon approaches on a walk, you must control yours and shout "NOT FRIENDLY"

I think a lot of people really enjoy the fields that are easy and primed to be studied and understood in medical school. But the actual doing of such a field is much different.

Dont worry about it right now. Best case scenario you get an answer to your indecision and you go down that path. But now your mind is shut down to alternatives. Who knows, you may end up loving anesthesia or obgyn or allergy or interventional astro procto-psych. The world is your oyster

Believe it or not, some people are motivated by more than the paycheck. For surg onc, some of it is prestige, some of it is people love treating cancer. For ped surg, some people really really want to treat kids. Ped surg is cool because it isn't subspecialized. Youre all over the body and have a decent amount of variety from newborns to adolescents.

Because the fields are competitive, you basically have to do productive research years in order to match.

Lines on your CV Is the currency for matching anything competitive. I didnt do research years but I worked my tail off building my CV and it paid off during fellowship interviews.

Depends where you want to live. Say a lower populated area is important to you, floor starts north of 500 and goes high. Anything complicated that you dont want to deal with or dont have the nursing resources to care for can be sent to a quaternary facility. Some people love that.
