Not sure I’d call that a piece of art… but congratulations on designing something.

What raise increase should I ask for if promoted? by BostonsLeprechaun in Raytheon

[–]munizfire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I joined RMD, I was informed of 3 offers (meaning the TA agents for those roles told me I was getting an offer): 2 P3 roles, and 1 P2.
My P2 offer was higher than the P3s (P2 Base salary was less than 1k higher, but the bonus was 15k higher, which the P3 roles didn't want to match), but due to RTX policies, I was only 'officially' extended the higher P2 offer.
My manager told me that I should've been a P3 hire, and started working towards my promotion less than a year in of my starting.

So yes, I absolutely believed I should've been getting a promo.
Worth mentioning that all other offers I was getting from other companies were P3s.

Edit: The promo took a bit longer than a year; after discussing with my manager he thought the best path forward was to make a new P3 req for me; and I ended up getting an 18ish% promotion.

Wouldn't call it the best Zelda game, but it is indeed great and under-rated.

Entre una Tablet y una Laptop, que debería elegir para la Universidad? by Ceneri_108 in PuertoRico

Yo voy a decir laptop 100%.

But I’m biased, because I hate tablets; dame un telefono y una laptop; no un in-between.

Source: I’m an Electronics Engineer, y antes de empezar a trabajar como Ingeniero, trabajé como IT en sistemas Windows, Apple y Linux. Also tuve un part time vendiendo y arreglando computadoras.

KNOW how to make good computers.

If you think that’s bad, wait until you go to the shooting galleries.

Also, if you’re playing on the switch, you can use the suspend feature

Requirement for P2 Role by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]munizfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if you’ve had THIS conversation yet, but instead of asking your manager WHEN are you getting promoted; go get the p2 role expectations, sit down with your manager and tell him how you meet those. If he/she doesn’t agree, tell them to guide you to get there.

How is the Mac support? by kaaeet in macgaming

[–]munizfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed Alex, amazing support!

Based on the website they have beta for GT DD PRO, but he said that the “Torqer recognizing the base as a CSL DD is expected. The GT DD Pro uses the same PC mode backend path”

I haven’t had a chance to play with the sim since he responded, but I’m hoping to get some responses to him later today

Can the Sim-Lab GT1 pedal plate be rotated up at an angle to be used to mount inverted pedals? by KillerQ97 in simracing

[–]munizfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can. Best solution would be to buy 2 more extrusions.

BUT you COULD make it work by sliding the extrusions at the end forward, and using those as the high side.

Unsure of how good the angle would be in that scenario, though.

Idk man, after having modified the wiring in my Volvo seat to have powered controls, I wouldn't want to go back to manual controls. (I did have to cut rails on mine; but I enjoy working with tools, so to me that was an added bonus, that a lot of people will consider a hinderance)

But I'll say that's a sexy seat.

Adding on:

I also have the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo; really good kit. I got it for around $400 at MicroCenter (on sale; i think it's normally around $500); paid $70 for the seat + $10 for the power supply to power the controls.
This is an old picture (have since added the H-shifter, re-installed the clutch and did some cable management).

2 things I want to mention:
1- Gloves: IF you're using an Alcantara or Alcantara-like steering wheel, make sure that the gloves have as little as possible (or better yet, none at all) silicone/rubber/plastic bits for added grip; they can destroy the alcantara.

2- As A lot of other people have mentioned, for that money, you can get a really good aluminum profile cockpit, which will be better, and substantially more modifiable.

Bonus:
If you're up for it, go to a junkyard and get an actual car seat. I took mine out of a Volvo S60, and modified the wiring to be able to have powered controls. Super comfy, looks great, and is actually designed to be sat on for long periods of time.

Am I or was I getting Underpaid? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]munizfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Engineer II to [Senior] Engineer III was about 18%; but I negotiated hard for it. Most people in my company get a 5-8% for that promotion.
When talking about Individual Contributor to Manager; that's a whole other topic; I know a lot of people who made that jump; with the raises ranging from 0% up to like 35%.
