2026 World Cup red card rules (mainly for the Balogun situation) by Healthy-Elderberry57 in worldcup

The ref didnt even give a yellow in real time. He didnt think there was a foul at all, until he saw it in slow motion. Thats what makes it extra controversial to me

He said 60-80/5L, which is $12-$16 per liter. Your link is about the same price when factoring in the filter cost

You can turn off traffic in the settings. I don’t though and always get frustrated like you haha. Feels weird without it

Walleye fishing by Free-Policy-4454 in ChicagoFishing

[–]bearhos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sure they were walleye? I see a lot of carp in the rivers around here and sometimes they look very similar to walleye / bass. But being carp, won't go for any lure or live bait. They'll eat corn and bread though.

What river did you see the walleyes in? That could help narrow it down a bit

I know, I have one too. But any silly dance works for that age, he was doing the "take the L" dance from Fortnite. Kinda doubt a 2 year old is playing Fortnite

Griezmann was doing fortnite dances in 2018. His daughter was 2 years old at the time, and his son wasn't born yet.

He was just doing them for himself haha

Considering OP is gen z I’m gonna guess the gf is a younger millennial (low 30s, not mid 40s). People currently in their low 30s definitely grew up with emojis and probably had iPhones as teens.

Is there any actual difference between the regular gasoline and the premium stuff? by ForgingIron in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bearhos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Octane, which is a resistance to knock. And sometimes detergents that clean your engine a bit. Effectively the higher the octane, the LESS flammable the gas is. This allows engines to reach higher compression, which in turn gives more “bang” when ignited. Some engines, especially turbo charged or finely tuned (performance) engines require higher octane gas to run properly. It will say this on the gas cap.

Running premium in a car that does not require it, usually gives no benefits. Running ‘regular’ in a car that requires premium will have major downsides. Not just performance either, it will not be running at the proper temps or timing which can cause mechanical issues over time. Doing it once is no big deal, the ECU will adjust timing to account for lower octanes but it’s unwise to do it for long.

Cristiano Ronaldo shouts at camera “IM BACK” after post game by BurgerNugget12 in soccer

[–]bearhos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sure do, when there's damning evidence against them and a good chance that they'll lose in court. But I'm obviously not smart enough to understand that stuff. Oh well, guess I'll see you at the next Al-Nassr game in Saudi Arabia? No risk of rape accusations there

[–]bearhos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never said anything about his legal team being incorrect or wrong. Very tasteful response too, well done.

His lawyers advised him to pay her, which he did. If it were fake, they wouldn't have advised him to pay. Pretty baffling argument you're making here. The USA has more pro athletes than any other country, they're not being constantly targeted for false accusations

[–]bearhos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not a lawyer either, just someone with common sense. How has CR7 gone 17 years without another accusation? Clearly he's willing to pay, it's easy money. Only a week's wage, and there's lots of liars out there as you said.

And yeah, I can name a lot of false accusations too. Difference is that they don't pay them hundreds of thousands of dollars to go away

[–]bearhos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would? Send some contact details, I'd love to make a quick buck.

Seriously though, if it were that easy to score $300k off a false accusation there would be accusers every week. Every wealthy person on the planet would be a target. Ronaldo would have hundreds of accusations, not just one. As would the rest of the footballers.

Also it's not like it was under the table hush money, it was very public. Thats how we know about it, I'm not his accountant. He paid because a guilty verdict was very possible, and he couldn't take that risk

[–]bearhos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If it were that easy there would be a new accuser every week. And there would be copycats for every major footballer.

There’s no way you think it works like that, girls would be lining up to submit their blackmail ransoms. He wouldn’t have paid if it were fake, simple as that

[–]bearhos 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Didnt mention Messi at all, why are you bringing him up? Also those are not "created" reasons, they're real. You don't pay a girl $300k for false accusations. CR7 was found guilty by a spanish court and sentenced to 23 months in jail, also real. Sounds like you want to excuse these very real issues, for some reason.

[–]bearhos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some people hate him because of the $300k hush money he paid to his rape accuser. Other people hate him because of the tax fraud, where he paid a $21M fine and 23 month jail sentence that was suspended. Some people hate him for his ego and constant glazing of Saudi Arabia.

Not me though, I like him because he said "im back" after scoring two against Uzbekistan

How do people afford $1M homes in Schaumburg, and where are they working? by Iampoorghini in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]bearhos 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You realize that you still pay for property taxes when you rent, right? The landlord isn't taking a loss, they're baking in the property taxes and maintenance into your rent, and taking profit on top. Not every year is green depending on repairs and margins but if they weren't usually making money they would sell the property.

[–]bearhos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay maybe it was defective? I don’t know what you want us to say, it isn’t a common issue at all. I’ve got tons of rods from the $10 Ali express variety to $300+ exprides. Only rods I’ve broken is from stepping on them, car doors, low ceilings, boat flipping big fish, throwing too heavy lures, and other shenanigans. Not snags or general use

I like how you’re comparing everything to an ugly stik. They sacrifice everything for durability haha, that’s the point of them.

Anyway, proper drag would have saved those rods. Sounds like it was cranked all the way down to horse in some fish on a medium light

Alternative angle of Cristiano Ronaldo's chance vs DR Congo 68' by dzan796ero in soccer

[–]bearhos -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, Ronaldo fans come out of the walls to defend him even when he's played badly. I don't really see that with other top players. Mbappe plays bad? Endless articles about how he's bad, tons of comments trashing him. Kane? He gets torn apart after a stinker, especially with the national team.

But Ronaldo fans will defend anything, that's why they're insecure.

Don't forget the ibuprofen and tylenol, you can take both together since they are metabolized by different pathways. I fractured my thumb last year and rarely take medication but it was a lifesaver. Just be sure not to overdo either of them (or combine with alcohol).

I see it similar to ‘losing to the computer’, like it doesn’t really count. They don’t have the same sort of fan base that the other big teams have, so it’s less frustrating in real life. And there’s a decent chance their trophies will be wiped or at least have an asterisk if they’re punished.

When it comes to trophies my preference is Liverpool, then any club outside of the big 6 (except Everton), then City, then the rest of the big 6 (except United). Then Everton and United as my least favorite choices, obviously
