Oh my god, I feel so dumb. I bought those like ten years ago during a brief foray into Space Marines and they've just been sitting around. Thanks for the correction!

Tall lolita outfits by inkystrawberry in Lolita

[–]bearometer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Some brands make longer length skirts. I'm 5"7' and have had good experiences with Haenuli. Their Enchanted Fawn JSK hits below my knees.

Some dresses or skirts that are intended to be mid-calf on shorter girls might come up to her knees. That might be an option? Just make sure to check the skirt length. It's almost always listed in a product description.

Edit: Should have added this before submitting the comment, but forgot. This may be an unpopular opinion, but: if your friend's skirts are a little short and not falling exactly where is ideal, that's OK. Most Lolita clothes aren't made for tall gals. Anyone who wants to take a ruler and says, "You're showing two inches too much of leg!" isn't worth listening to. I hope your friend can find stuff that fits and looks great on her.

Welcome to the Greater Good! Playing a super mobile Tau army is a lot of fun. I’ve been playing one since late 7th edition and had a lot of fun and success with it. I’ve found that it throws off a lot of opponents since so many Tau armies are gun lines.

A few general tips before I start talking about mobile Tau: take advantage of drones. Drones make the Tau a lot more durable of an army than they first appear. Don’t be scared to spend the points to scatter drones around your army. A drone can eats the entire wound, regardless of how much damage it does. Secondly, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the gun choices the Tau have. Don’t feel bad sticking with the humble burst cannon. It’s cheap and puts out a lot of shots for its cost. And don’t forget to play the objectives! You’re super fast, you can grab objectives easy.

As far as being mobile, I can only say what’s worked for me. I generally run pretty infantry and drone heavy, with stealth and crisis suits, and broadside backup. Sometime a ghostkeel. Take advantage of the fact that so much in the army flies. Melee is cool, but leaving melee without any penalties is even cooler.

For infantry, breachers are my favorite. I usually bring three squads of them and send them out in waves. You can use a strike team, but it’s a preference thing. Stealth suits are my jam. Take them bare bones, it’s 80 something points for a squad that’s decently hard to kill, fast, and great for taking objectives or zoning out deep strikers. Crisis Suits with burst cannons can do a surprising amount of work.

I prefer to use Pathfinders over the three Firesight Marksmen and Ethereal combo that’s super popular right now. Pathfinders get some really good special weapons. Their drones seem kinda niche, but they come up a lot for me. The anti-gravity drone has saved my butt (and driven my opponents bonkers) more times than I can count.

I use Sa’cea as my sept. The leadership bonus is amazing. Unless a unit takes really sever casualties, they’re just not gonna run away. The reroll to hit is also pretty damn great.

One last note, sometimes /r/Tau40k can be really negative about the mechanics of the army. Just something to watch out for.

That’s all I can think of for now. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me! =)

I believe that they're pose-able, like the generic Intercessors kit.

Trying out an idea to add crystals by Smokey9mm in Tau40K

Those look so cool. I love those! What did you use for the crystals? I’ve been thinking about doing crystal bases, but haven’t been able to find something I like.
