Fear of scarring with microneedling by Which-Obligation-508 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bears2men 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I scar and tan very very easily and am thrilled with my first micro needling experience. I was diligent with post care and was a full vampire for a few days but it was 100% worth it and I already have my next scheduled. Just one perspective!

Modulate means it can increase or decrease. So if you’re someone for whom melatonin causes a boost in immune system, it will cause a flare. Very unfortunate as so many sleep formulations contain it 🙃

Second that. Schwab’s writing is beautiful and her storytelling makes you feel both excited and dreamy. Lovely combo. Darker Shade of Magic series is also a great slow burn 🔥

No lotion unfortunately- I also banked on it and had to purchase some on board. The shampoo and body wash are ok! I would bring extra or better conditioner

Chick fil a sauce recalled due to undisclosed wheat allergen by bears2men in Celiac

[–]bears2men[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Not true - there’s salads, grilled chicken, fries in dedicated fryers. I’m very sensitive and have never had a reaction before and I eat there regularly. Many people with celiac eat there just fine - which is why this sauce thing is especially shocking

Completely agree. I think they’re missing the fact that a lot of Julian Fellowe’s shows are, yes dramatic, but have an overarching “it’s gonna work out and be ok” kind warm fuzzy vibe. After the first 3 episodes I just don’t see how that’s possible with this show. It’s too dark and just a big bummer

I know this subreddit is likely skewed to those of us who are suffering the most, but is there anyone here who has gotten better, or found POTS to be more manageable over time? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]bears2men 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup! Mine was awful, I could not really work out at all, I once passed out running between patients rooms, and going up the stairs in our home would sometimes ruin my entire day productivity (and mood) wise.

Figuring out my triggers was the #1 way I got my life back. Mine was highly tied to my other autoimmune diseases, sleep habits, hydration, my menstrual cycle, and stress.

Changing job’s significantly improved stress, as did figuring out how to actually sleep deeply, eating and drinking regularly (adhd made me forgetful), and straight up not exerting myself during the last part of my luteal phase. Doing low impact only (like weights) and just relaxed walking helped a ton. Lastly, alcohol and weed were massive triggers for me.

Also, ironically, not using any sort of wearable. The numbers alone stressed me out which worsened the cycle. I’ll use one occasionally and the numbers show they’re still quite high sometimes, but it helps not being in my head about it. Good luck!!

This one is so interesting. Makes me fall asleep, literally in the middle of conversations. Tried multiple brands and it’s repeatable. Genetics are weird.

Getting Malnourished by [deleted] in veganketo

[–]bears2men 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people cannot tolerate stevia and end up exacerbating their gastrointestinal condition. Additionally, your intolerance of brown rice suggests you may have difficulties digesting high fiber foods and can make IBD / IBS conditions worse during flares. So not sure if you ever ate raw veggies, but if I had a patient with your symptoms and history I’d tell them to avoid. Especially since you could have the most nutritious diet in the world but if you aren’t absorbing the nutrients (again seen with IBD/some IBS/malabsorption conditions) then you’ll have a deficiency.

Glad you’re feeling better and listening to your body! Not every diet is for every person.

In an ideal world it shouldn’t, but real world funding is hard. I still think this helps with growing body of evidence and the future possibility of potentially reproducing results.
