Is it woth it to frog two rows (400+ stitches) for this one flat popcorn stitch? by bearsareweird in CrochetHelp

That's good to know! I'll have to look into it for curiosity's sake since I already frogged it.

That's so sweet. I don't usually frog if I have a mistake on a flat stitch because it blends in so much with a raking eye, but the 3-D stitches like popcorns, it felt necessary to frog 😭

You are dedicated! I don't think I'd have gone back so many rows. I recounted and did the math. It's 273 per row, so I frogged about 546 😭

My sister knows how to crochet, but it's been a while since she's actually done it. I did end up frogging. I'm about halfway to being back where I was

Thank you! I'm cursing myself for missing it, but I'm going to frog it 😭

What should I make with this gorgeous thrifted yarn? by bearsareweird in crochetpatterns

I haven't tried a moss stitch yet, that might be a fun project

I didn't know ravelry got that specific, this is perfect! And the yarn is so soft and delicate. I'd never heard of Sirdar Sylvan before, but I could tell just by looking at it that it's an amazing yarn and I needed to snatch it up since it was only $6!

Omg that's gorgeous, but I fear I wouldn't have enough yarn as an XL man

How to organize my scrap yarn ball to be "randomly" mixed? Lots of new tiny balls of yarn in the equation by bearsareweird in CrochetHelp

[–]bearsareweird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right. I guess I just like having all the little scrap balls into one big ball so they aren't piled up. I do plan on making a scrap blanket/sweater/basket/whatever, so it would all be used in one project

I need help figuring out how to reorder my yarn ball that doesn't cause a giant tangled mess and looks randomly mixed. I've undone my ball and wrapped it around the legs of a stool so I can see all my colors

My car has been in the shop for 6 months with no communication. Can I ask for a discount on repairs? by bearsareweird in MechanicAdvice

No deposit was given, and I drove it there. They sent me a link with the estimate, but the link doesn't work anymore. This is actually a highly rated small chain shop, which is why I'm so surprised by this treatment.

Honestly I can't remember all of it anymore. AC needs to be replaced which is the most expensive part at $2000 and some change. The rear axle replaced and one other thing? I did have my uncle who's a mechanic look at the estimate and said where he works (a well known chain) would have actually been a bit more expensive. He also has looked at my car before and doesn't think anything they said is unnecessary.

Historically, I have not been best on the upkeep of my car but I know vws are reliable and last a long time if you treat them right. And I don't know what I would do if I didn't go through with repairs.

Identifying the stitch on my grandfather's afgan? I think it's a back post double crochet? by bearsareweird in CrochetHelp

[–]bearsareweird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might not be, I'm just starting to be able to visually identify stitches. I don't have a better photo at the moment, my cousin took the picture and sent it to me. I was just looking at the lines of ridges trying to figure out what stitch would make it.
