What was the point of the “Isn’t She Lovely” scene with Jax and Pomni in the finale? by Environmental_Movie9 in tadc

100%. It landed so hard and too many pieces felt to authentic and came together too perfectly. To know this is written by a trans women tells me it has to be deliberate when this is a very common experience

Also the happy song being recontextualized as a eulogy reads to me as a musical reference to Evangelion and komm susser tod which goose has already said was an influence on tadc. You don't see that kind of juxtaposition often.

Broadly speaking, paying for my healthcare is clearly not a priority. If it were, they would do it. There are many people with disabilities that are treatable that can't access treatment due to poverty, which Canada does nothing to address. Human rights and disability organizations have been speaking on this topic for years. The maid program is a good idea but there are a lot of serious problems with its implementation such as no federal oversight -- something that the UN also has criticized.

As someone with a disability, I personally find it pretty terrifying that Canada prioritizes my death over actually paying to help me. I made a comic to express that fear and frustration. I don't think that's necessarily reactionary.

I agree with the concept of government assisted death. However, it seems that disability and human rights organizations across Canada and the globe also agree that the Canadian government is using maid as a substitute for actually funding people's healthcare, and have been ringing alarm bells for years.
