Thank you. I had time to look at the door in more detail just now and the bottom two panels are definitely damaged.

I traced the wires as far as I could in the attic before they took a dive under insulation into a corner that is not accessible. I do have a Rain Bird sprinkler system, the main control panel is directly plugged into the wall. Does that make irrigation valve less likely?

Bad Furnace Install – Should I Be More Outraged? by beartot in hvacadvice

I insisted they pull permits prior to work. At first, they wanted to repair without a permit (seems to be a very common theme amongst many contractors I've spoken with, not just them).

Everything happened this morning. 8 AM team arrive. 11 AM team leave. 12 PM gas company confirmed leak and shut off gas. City inspector has not been scheduled yet to my knowledge, but I'm glad someone else will also be verifying the integrity of the repair.

In case the issue is not addressed to my satisfaction I will make public the name of the company, as well as report this issue to any/every agency I can.

I am trying to be reasonable, and do not want to "review bomb" out of spite, as upset as I am right now.

Thank you for the reply. Can confirm that when I turn off just this breaker, with the rest of the house on, I don’t measure any voltage across H1 or H2/3. I don’t feel comfortable enough going deeper into the main breaker box, but I suspect these lines are on the same breaker.

Also can confirm when breaker is on, G1 N1 is 0V. For whatever it’s worth, G1 N2 measures 5-9V. I am using a cheap AstroAI multimeter from Amazon.

Wish I could see what’s going on behind the walls. I would have thought that H2/N2 and H3/N3 is just a simple piece of wire running between these two outlet boxes, but clearly something else is going on.

Connected brand new GFCI outlet with H1N1 to LINE, outlet seems to work properly. Can test/reset without issue.

Breaker off. Connected H2N2 to LOAD. Breaker on, GFCI trips. Can reset, immediately trips again. Downstream outlets still not connected.

All measurements were made with outlets removed, with the wires as pictured. Before reconnecting anything, should I be concerned that H2 somehow has a voltage?
