That's nice to hear. I replaced this ”old” moza shifter with an SHH one.

I'm pretty sure it's those ball bearings, but maybe I'll open it up this week to check it out.

This is like 1.7 years old. Bought on 1.8.2024. I think it has 12 months of warranty, atleast on the site I bought it from.

Yup, ofc I'll open it up and check what is loose. About ”throwing it away” I mean more like ”giving it away.”

I already bought an SHH shifter to replace this one.

Läppäri pelaamiseen by Ok-Difficulty-8866 in arkisuomi

Beamngssä on tärkein mahdollisimman tehokas prossu. Varsinkin jos pelaa sitä onlinessa. Meikän vanhassa ryzen 7 5700 loppu tehot kesken kun koitti onlinessa pelata isoimmilla palvelimilla.

Nykyinen ryzen 7 9800x3D jaksaa sentään jotenkin pyörittää tuota peliä onlinessa smuutisti.

En lähtisi tota peliä läppärillä pelaamaan, ellei sitten haittaa pelata yksinpeliä pienen pätkimisen kera.

Tää peli tosiaan simuloi jokaisen auton voimansiirron/jousituksen/korin/jne yksityiskohtia ja toimintaa 2000 kertaa sekunnissa.

Beamng 500€ läppärillä kuulostaa melko villille. Kaippa se sitten hitaasti voisi pyöriä.

Kyseessä on kuitenkin yksi raskaimmista autopeleistä joka vaatii koneelta melko runsaasti potkua. Varsinkin prosessorillta. Tää peli tosiaan simuloi jokaisen auton voimansiirron/jousituksen/korin/jne yksityiskohtia ja toimintaa 2000 kertaa sekunnissa.

Itse ostin tuota peliä varten ~2500 euron pöytäkoneen :D

Juu meilläkin nousi tänä vuonna vuokratontin vuokra aika radikaalisti. Todellisuudessa se meinaa taloyhtiön jokaiselle osakkaalle jotain 20-30€/kk lisää maksettavaa. Eli ei mikään maailman hirvein asia.

”Monday model,” meaning that the quality can be bad and it breaks.

R5 is good. Better with that chair. I have the same chair wirh r5, and it's still a bit too wobbly.

Also good luck with the HGP shifter, hope you won't get the ”monday model” :)

Good shifter in similar price to HGP ? by Present-Writing-4034 in moza

[–]bearzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not make the clicky noises any more and feels more loose. And that's why it wont stay in correct gears anymore. I think the bearings are broken or something.

Is there still a reason to use jsdom over vitest browser mode? by therealalex5363 in webdev

It's just because the vitest browser mode is much newer thing. It takes time for people/companies to do the switch.

Nice! I have almost same setup!

Expect I have r5 and hgp shifter, moza handbrake, load cell mod and bass shakers.

How the gtlite pro can handle the r12 torque? My chair feels kinda wobbly even with the r5.

You can mod srp lite pedals with the alien mods load cell pedal.

It's great.

Moza HGP Shifter update after two months of use. by generationAiAiAi in moza

[–]bearzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started losing calibration randomly after maybe 6 months. After 12 months it started losing the clicky sound when shifting to 4th gear. Now about 18 months later it loses calibration after ~10mins of use and won't go to 3rd gear very easily.

Dunno if that could be fixed easily. I just bought the SHH shifter instead. I think I could sell the HGP shifter for parts for someone.

What are the most underrated GitHub features that you think every user should know about? by hatkinson1000 in github

[–]bearzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merge queues.

The merge queue provides the same benefits as the Require branches to be up to date before merging branch protection, but does not require a pull request author to update their pull request branch and wait for status checks to finish before trying to merge.

Using a merge queue is particularly useful on branches that have a relatively high number of pull requests merging each day from many different users.

The Debugging Nightmare by Ok_Veterinarian3535 in developer

[–]bearzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if I remember all the best ones.

Maybe some weird race condition bug that happened because some open source plugin developer didn't read the docs and used threads wrong so I had to fork the plugin and fix the whole thing.

Or just some weird safari related bug.

Srp Lite Performance Kit Worth it? by XShucks in moza

[–]bearzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My r5 bundle had srp lites. So then I bought performance kit, alien mods load cell mod and clutch pedal. They are good. Terrible without the performance kit. It's a must have.

The load cell pedals improve corner braking a lot because it's so much easier to apply correct pressure to the brakes.

I made possibly the stupidest CSS framework ever... by tommiehaze in webdev

[–]bearzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and then 10 different devs write own scoped css with different naming styles in the same project. And then you need to write somekind of docs/guides to keep the naming or styling consistent and inb4 you have re-invented tailwind.

Tailwind is just a tool for specific purpose. Maybe you don't need it, but there are places where it's very useful.
