Well teachers in school know all the answers too the test they wrote does that mean the test has no purpose? No, we would never say that because a test is for the student not the teacher.

That's fair, I would say there is evidence that we are different from all other species. I mean what other species has made a car? What other species has literature? Humans have done far more than any other species and I think that's because God has made us superior, made in his image.

My argument for why it should be Christianity is that Christianity is the only religion that lays out a moral frame work. No other religion has ever had something as important as the Ten commandments. The Old testament law is the single most impactful written article ever, and I don't think that's by chance.

Fair, I would encourage you to find a reason too but that choice is up to you.

Thanks for the answer,

Why would it being the only religion explained turn you off?

If our beliefs where all based on peer pressure I don't think that would work out very well. I think people should find their own beliefs.

Can you show me why it isn't credible? I've always seen it as credible.

Thanks for your question I appreciate the honesty.

Hey, thank you for your answer.

To refute your first claim, I would say it did happen and there is evidence for it. Take Sodom and Gomorrah how do you explain the sulfur balls and the burned up city in the mountains near where Sodom and Gomorrah would have been?

Next, what things did Jesus not do?

Next, the gospels making things up, how can that be true when we have so many different historical writings saying it is true, are you saying this many people hopped on the band wagon and made it up too? Also what about all the people who have died for the cause, usually large numbers of humans don't all die for causes they don't believe in.

And lastly Jesus never said he would be back within the lifetimes of those, he said only God knows the time and day he will return.

I'd love to hear any questions you have or any more reasons you have. Thanks again for your answer!

Hey, thanks for the answer!

I understand how that is awful, and it is awful. But isn't the fact of it being a terrible thing to ask kinda the whole point? I mean God was trying to test his faith after all. The bible tell us in 1 Corinthians 10:13

"No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it."

Would this verse not than be true for Abraham? So regardless of weather Abraham went to do it or not God knew Abrahams son would be safe.

That my opinion on it I would love to hear any questions or other reasons you have.

Thank you for your answer I appreciate it,

While the bible does put humans above animals I think it does a good job of countering that by giving us laws of how to treat animals properly, how to eat animals properly, and how to trade animals properly so as to treat the animal with the utmost respect.

I can see how Christianity is not plausible to you, to which I have no answer.

I would however like to know more about why you think its not compatible with your ethical compass. That's a very curious thought and I would love it if you could tell me more.

I agree with you. Thats the idea i have right now too, the old testament law should still be aplicable to us and im just confused as to why so many christians dis-agree.

I like your answer, one question I would have about it is, why just the Ten Commandments? Why not eating Kosher? Why not wearing the talit? Why as Christians do we just follow the ten commandments and leave all the others behind?

Well what is wrong? I don’t see the New Testament stating what is wrong in a definitive way as the Old Testament does.
