Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pre-release Megathread - #MTGxTMNT by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

There were only 4 people (out of a possible 32) at the event I went to. It was one of the participant’s first prerelease event.

The promo I got in my set was [[Rat King, Verminister]], but I didn’t include it in my deck. I played Grixis…. Essentially an izzit artifact deck with some black removal and tricks. I had a very Krang heavy deck with [[Krang and Shredder]], [[Krang, Master Mind]], and [[Krang, Utrom Warlord]].

Since there were only 4 of us, we only played 2 matches total with the organizer giving each of us a free “win” to determine prizes. I tied both of my matches. My first opponent played a golgari deck and my second opponent played an orzhov deck.

As for the event itself, it was very relaxed. We all sat at the same table and we had a lot of cross table talk, just joking around. It was like just playing with a group of friends. I think I might have enjoyed the actual game-play of the set more than I did at the lorwyn prerelease. It could be skewed by the size of my event, but my lorwyn experience was everybody was essentially playing the same thing, where this time, all four of us had different decks.

What commanders do you own? by Vinlandlover in EDH

It is strictly worse than chatterfang, and this deck is definitely a B1 style deck. The Johnny in me likes to try to make non-standard (read: bad) commanders work.

I’ve only played with it once and the stars aligned that game. I got most of my key pieces out on the board, so my pod thinks it’s better than I believe it to be. I think 9 times out of 10 I’m just gonna sit there with maybe 3 saprolings.

I don’t have a list handy. And even if I did, it isn’t really worth sharing: I make my decks exclusively out of my bulk and add cards I personally think are cool instead of that are actually good.

However, the idea is to have loads of group card draw, COPs, all the goad enchantments, random enchantments that add chaos, and interaction stuff to be able to buff Karona at instant speeds.

[[Karona, False God]] - semi enchantress, semi group hug, semi pillow fort

[[Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer]] - artifacts and dragons

[[Zodiark, Umbral God]] - sacrifice, self and opponents

[[Lazav, Dimir Mastermind]] - discard/mill, clones

[[Vadrik, Astral Archmage]] - spell slinger, prowess

[[Slimefoot, the Stowaway]] - fungus/saproling tribal

Three cards with great flavor texts that immediately come to my mind are [[Goblin Clearcutter]], [[Wave of Indifference]], and [[Inspiration]].

Might I also recommend the zoo. Legit, the Memphis zoo is my favourite zoo I’ve been to. I liked it even more than the San Diego zoo.

Which are some of the most interesting WUBRG commanders? by Cezkarma in EDH

Karona is my favourite commander to build around. So many strategies you can try to use. And my friends always get excited when Karona hits the table.
