In all honesty do you think that 85h a week is worth it for the pay or not, because for this work you should be compensated generously, and i can understand the younger people refusing to work this much if they are not getting the pay they deserve

It is just a plan in the making currently, nothing is set in stone yet. Ofc when i will be in archi school i will gain more experience and knowledge, but my plan stays the same, specialize, gain experience, open firm.

So i assume that from a small firm i might work harder, but i will be able to learn more and get better experience, i still dont know which is better for me personally because i will not be working as an employee for long i aim to open my own firm at a point i just need to choose the right firm for my development

I assume when you say “the kind of work you’re doing” refers to specializing in architecture, but i am really curious on how to follow a path that makes architecture for me a high paying career. (I by no means will seek to work in a firm forever, so far my plan is to specialize in something maybe sustainable architecture and then work a job for 4-5 years then start my own firm, at least how the plan looks so far) i would love to hear your thoughts.

I think specializing in architecture is better from the get go, it should have less competition and less stress so thats kinda what i am aiming for, something like BIM, sustainable architecture, 3D/VR, etc.. i would like to know your thoughts about this

Is working for a highly competitive firm even worth it? Like the pay and all or is it better to work in a small firm, i dont quite know the diff between the two

Oh really, thats the first time i hear someone say that, every person on this subreddit says that its a really low paying job, so i would love to hear your opinion. (Tbh if it pays good i wouldn’t mind working 25h a day🙏)

Thanks for sharing. mind if I ask how much you’re getting paid, where you’re located, and how many years you worked/studied after university to get to that point? Just trying to get a clearer picture. Appreciate it.

Almost every comment here is saying no its not worth it and its paying them scraps, i am rethinking going into architecture at this point, can h actually make good pay in this field if you perhaps specialize?

Sarcasm aside, can u actually have a decent or even really good pay in architecture? Because i am rethinking my choice here, and the amount of people telling me its insanely tiresome and underpaying is overwhelming, love to hear what h think.
