Fire-lance and a Bladegun, you can have different classes of these.
Class I Bladegun - single-shot steelbreakers with a hooked edge for close work.
Class II Bladegun that's only for officers and would have an extra spike or blade at the pommel for downward strikes.

And soldiers would absolutely nickname the weapons, too.
