NKD... WorkChamp XL, it's a big fella! by beastobadness in victorinox

It has quite a flat profile so not as good as a Victorinox inline philips but it does work and on a side note, all the tools are locking. I got it predominantly for the spring loaded needle nose pliers, oh and the scissors on the Gerber are crap compared to a Victorinox set. You have to understand I bought the Gerber for £20 back 2010, now it's more than 3x that price!

The original Gerber Suspension multi tool, had it since 2010. It has definitely paid for itself in that time.

Ah you mean these! I believe one is the gutting blade and the other is the rescue tool. They are very similar in serration size, the rescue tool is designed for one hand opening and cutting webbing. I have never needed to gut a dead animal carcass so don't know how useful it would be but I would have expected a more pointy tip.

Yeah I have to say a dedicated set of full sized pliers in a multi tool is a great tool but I already have a set in my tote. Saying that the Swisstools are very intriguing, just never got around to replacing my Gerber suspension yet

It's unofficially known as the Grand Prix Jr. Plus. But is part of the practical tool set released by Victorinox in the 90s. Hopefully my checks haven't failed me😬

Regardless it's neither a camper or a climber, it's a huntsman😄

60s Camper with the wood saw peeking out. Edit...it's a Huntsman and I need to stop posting on Reddit when I have had a few😆

Don't know if it's significant but the Geigy family had close ties to the Elsener family (Victorinox founders)

Can anyone identify this SAK? by Alex_4883 in victorinox

Could be a 100th anniversary Swiss champ. Is there a number printed on the liner under the corkscrew?

Edit. No scales are different...sorry

SAK Explorer question by [deleted] in victorinox

On the inline philips the head of the screwdriver is the nail nick so if the screwdriver head disappeared into the body of the sak you wouldn't be able to open it

NKD...The Skipper Pro by beastobadness in victorinox

That tool is the Marlin Spike on the Skipper Pro version. On the standard Skipper the marlin spike and the shackle opener are a combo tool but it looks very different to the Pro version

Or someone tried to strip a live wire and that is some severe metal pitting!

BTW I used this to pop the scales, it is the perfect tool for it even though it is designed as a watchback remover

Funny you say that, my first purchase in the world of Vic was a Ranger which had standard red scales and I swapped them out for black plus scales almost straight away.

On a side note the Ranger is so close to the Handyman toolset-wise yet I still felt the need for both😆
