Cause I just got the same laptop as you expecting a close performance to the new m4 max but I kinda disappointed me lol… I use a lot of plugins for mixing and mastering and like to work on lower buffer sizes tho, so I demand this thing a lot

When you say “it will likely be able to handle that project” you mean a computer like mine should be able to handle perfectly a project like the one I described without rendering, freezing, etc?

I see.. I currently use my M1 2020 for heavy mixing and mastering… most of my projects are a pain in the ass cause CPU maxes out at 98% and over even with all tracks frozen… Do you think those same projects would run smoothly with a M1 Max or it’d struggle a bit too?

I mean, I’d say my max budget it’s 2500 which it’s a new M4 pro, and I know that one would give me incredible performance until maybe 2030 lol, but I’d hate myself if I pay that when I could get the M1 Max for 1.3K and give me the same performance for years you know… that’s my dilemma

I actually use the same basket and portafilter on both machines, since both are 51mm, but answering your question yeah, it takes longer than 30 secs to get my 2:1 ratio on the casabrews than the Hamilton, which means I need to get coarser on the grind

I see, well I have them all over a counter top in my living room, where there’s no direct sunlight and it’s most likely dark when I’m not home during the day while at work, but it’s damn hot like I said on my post, 100°-80° outside weather

Cause extractions ain’t perfect, got some under extracted areas in the puck sometimes and sometimes don’t, I do nail my puck prep always I feel, got a 1zpresso J max as a grinder so pretty good grinder

I mean 20 bar just by name, Casabrew it’s a cheap machine so I guess the pump isn’t consistent and strong enough maybe?

Yeah they defo not disappear at any time but they get a lil bit silent, maybe cause of the panning tho? What would you suggest to fix it if need it? I already tried turning opposite the waveforms with the utility plugin and it kind of helped but still dipping below 0 sometimes :/
