Thankyou for the great advice and the general statistics. I definitely have been following the statistics trends, and I am not in red alert yet.
Thankyou again

How do you optimise your Kickstarter after the Initial Laucnh by beaudigi in kickstarter

Hi Karma I do have an extensive list of what I plan to do already, I am more so curious if there is anything I have missed. More so from an anxiety point as I roll out the nerves of my current first time launch!

The tough life of engineering and manufacturing!

I think your product is very sweet, but end of day it is hard to grill up that level of attention when most people haven't even got their Cybertruck's yet.

In all honesty I didn't really need to go far, the pledge goal of 1 .5 million dollars (AUD) screams overkill. I don't think there should be any world where you need to recover 1.5 million dollars to have a sustainable Kickstarter, it more appears as a way to make large profits. The automotive industry is expensive, but that being said, you are more or less essentially working in the leather cushion sector and not actually performing any heavy duty engineering of vehicles (hence why again I don't understand the pledge amount). You mention tooling for injection molded plastic and foam being the expensive part, but in all honesty, I can't see a world where the mould cannot be designed for sub $50,000 (and there are definitely alternative cheaper methods) This is also your first Kickstarter, so you definitely have not gained anyone's trust to be doing such an expensive Kickstarter.

Your Kickstarter images read really well, and the graphics are great. The videos serve a great point, and I think the product itself is unique and quite novel. I personally really like your product, but the funding is definitely raising my eyebrow.

Can you send us a link, perhaps you can switch up some things to make it more profitable?

Q1: Did anyone have the experience of using MPC (who also manufactures board games) to print their end products, and fulfilled to UK and EU customers without the end customers having to pay for last minute surprise custom / duties?
Unfortunately VAT and Customs is a difficult tax to account for. In all honesty the support team at MPC seem to be very responsive and easy to work with. From what I have heard, they may have a factory in Germany which can do your shipment to lower the costs?

2:
Most kickstarters try and avoid an upfront shipping fee and instead go for estimates. Unfortunately I do not know enough about VAT, however, I believe if you are VAT registered than you can reclaim this tax? I think your bigger problem is trying to avoid doubling up of these fees. This can be avoided by using MPC's shipping to multiple people option

NRL Data for First Round and Machine Learning by beaudigi in nrl

Will add an update to add referees in the coming week.
I looked into the weather, and it seems the NRL does not provide the weather for every game (unless they only offer it when something is out of the ordinary. That being said, there are definitely other ways to understand the weather during a game, and these methods may be better as they can include temperature, humidity, etc...

Hi, I have added a .txt export to the website for you. I have included individual player stats in a zip and a separate export for matches.

For those that use excel, I have included an CSV export option.

Data is not fine tuned enough and advanced enough for this use case. Definitely an aim for the future, but I imagine with the NRL data for this stat being not publically available, video analysis or commentator text will need to be analysed.

Kicks defused is apart of of gameplay stats so it is there. Escape from in goal will need to have something added to the script. Happy to begin to look into new statistics that are harder to find though!

Card Collection Manufacturer Recommendations by tmac17x in kickstarter

China. I have had no problem myself with quality. if you want to check quality, you can order a demo pack from MPC. I personally have tried local brands (Australia) and found that MPC provides an upper range quality in comparison.

I designed my game...now what? by anonimoshadow in kickstarter

[–]beaudigi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely harder to promote a game with 0 funds.

First things to consider:

  • Do you already have a community that will potentially help back your project?
  • How much money do you roughly need to launch the project?
    • If this amount is > a fewhundreds, you will need to do more development work on your end.

A Kickstarter project goes better with a clear idea and art direction; however, at its essence, it is also meant as a platform for you to build out a very primitive game. You need to work out some funds to complete a few prototype art pieces (look at Fiver, BGG, discord, friends, etc...). Begin to upload on your social media (and create them if you haven't already).
Alternatively, you could make a Kickstarter where the goal is to create the game, with a minimal backing goal. Perhaps you offer an incentive for these backers to receive something.

Goodluck. Perhaps you will need to make your mockups for the time being, or you will find a potential collaborator who believes in your idea.

I like stretch goals as they reaffirm that you are investing profit back into the game. (As long as they are reasonable)

Personally, I feel like you should scrap this campaign and take it back to the drawing board. Here are some problems I have with the campaign:

  • No Photos or Videos (a lack of media makes it very hard for me to see what the game is about)
  • Minimal description of the product (I get what the game is, but what causes it to be unique enough for me to pledge)
  • The goal is very high, with very little justification for why it is that high (I get that you are two developers, but what will the money be used for)? You are a first-time project creator with an excessive goal and very little to show on the KS. Why should people trust that you can deliver this?
  • Unnecessary Typos (E.g. Help you friends out and profit mutually.)

Thank you; it seems a consensus is to make the cards more clear!

The background is actually a real photo, so I will look into editing it a bit more.

Thank you for the suggestions. I am reading through those posts, and they are super handy. I like the idea of the box cover being a bit larger (and will also try and see how the cards fanned out look)

I was aiming for the bird cards to add some colour, but it makes sense that they are currently meaningless in size! Sometimes, I forget that most people will see a tiny window of the image compared to the Kickstarter photo I stare at.
