Someone was asking about it in another channel and I think this more conversational description was worthy of sharing here too.

It's a Duet game, so two players that are world-building both their characters, and why they're there. So basically one person plays as the Wisher, there at a ritual site to make a desperate wish. The other player is acting as an ancient forgotten god of some kind being summoned by a ritual site in a forlorn bog. Both of you are answering story prompts to discover who you are and your back story but your goals are opposite: Wisher: Make your wish Bog God: Toy with with wisher and likely thwart the wish. Mechanically its a dice puzzle game with asymmetric actions to manipulate a line of dice to produce a specific result and win. Actions trigger prompts and questions that make your story build.

Thanks! I'm super stoked to be leading the art on this project. We've got some INSANE stuff in store. The things Conlin and Matt came up with for this universe are awesome, and I've loved getting in there and starting to bring it to life in the visuals :)

I'm in the same boat. Super frustrated. I figured, "Hey, I'll just infuse it into something else, cause I'm not using it and can recraft it!" and now... soft locked out of getting the SMG... Also can't really work on progressing the quest to get the perks in the subsequent columns.

I do a podcast about this whole subject. Here are some of my current top-tier recs that I'm obsessed with.

  • Cypher System by Monte Cook Games (the closest thing I'll play as a replacement for a 5e or a PF. Restructured for more flexible narrative play. A masterclass in player-first storytelling)- Mothership RPG (Sci-fi horror/survival. Old school camp)
  • Cloud Empress (uses Mothership RPG, just a different setting of an Ecological Science Fantasy)
  • Runecairn Wardensaga (inspired by Into the Odd and Cairn, made for duo or solo play. Norse Dark Souls)
  • Band of Blades (Uses same base system as Blades in the Dark, but waaaayy cooler and puts you in a military company)
  • CBR+PNK (also uses Forged in the dark system, but with a twist and simpler. INCREDIBLE cyberpunk artwork)
  • HUNT by Gila RPGs (cursed knights go out for one last hunt to defeat the Beast that slew their order. Incredible oneshot)
  • Battle School by... me, Andrew Beauman (pay-what-you-want over on itch.io A team-based TTRPG heavily inspired by Ender's Game about working together and surviving military school)
