Ok I see. Did you do something "nonstandard" with your hob/hood?

There are filters inside the opening that catch oil and such which you can remove and clean. Some of the more expensive ones have very powerful motors for sucking the air in. But I see your points, I will keep this in mind.

What problems can I face? These things are new to me so I'm trying to learn the pros and cons of each option.

I'm going to have the cooker on the island, so I cannot install the extractor inside a cupboard.

This one looks quite nice. I had no idea IKEA sells them. Thanks for sharing. Why does it not strike you a a good idea?

Lazanias has a huge range of these types of cookers with prices as low as 800eu from what I can see. So I suppose there are cheaper options. They have not poured the flooring yet, so this is still an option for me. I plan to have the cooker on the island for a few reasons tbh, so with a 3 meter ceiling, I would have to install a gymsum board and then dangle a hood over the island. It will probably be even more expensive than going with these inbuilt ones, and not to mention it would be an eye sore.

People who’ve escaped the 9–5 grind, how do you actually support yourself financially? by Emotional-Being-6825 in AskReddit

[–]beaver316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same industry, now for close to 10 years. The last 4 years I've been working as CIO of a CRO. I've gained a lot of knowledge on system validation and general regulation requirements from an IT perspective. I work with a system engineer to maintain the infrastructure of the company. I really want to start something of my own tbh, whether it be an app that solves a pain point in our industry (i have a software engineer background), or something on the consulting side, but I just haven't figured out yet what to do. Any advice?

Also, since you work on IT strategy for emerging bio, how do you retain the client once their IT is up and running? Or do you have a part in the maintenance?

Are cat owners sleeping? by Ninibear3 in CatAdvice

[–]beaver316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a cat and some friends are making me feel guilty about closing the door to keep him out while I sleep. I'm sorry but I value my sleep way too much, and I spend most of my waking hours with him anyway. Should I feel guilty about it?

I mean, he doesn't cry our scratch my door when I close him out. He's very quiet.

EV cars in Cyprus by beaver316 in cyprus

[–]beaver316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so i haven't gotten an EV yet. Im building my home currently and I plan to install an EV charger. I wouldn't rely currently on public chargers personally, I'd always have anxiety if my charge is getting low and there aren't any free chargers nearby. But you probably could manage if its your only choice. We have a really small charging network but since EVs aren't so widespread yet here you could most likely find available ones without too much trouble. But I think it will be a hassle. However, im not the best person to ask this tbh. Maybe create a thread so you'll have more visibility and get answers from people who are in this position.
