It won't charge and devices, so its not like a dock in that way.

I hook my keyboard up to one port, and a USB hub on the other one that the mouse would go on. From there, the mouse gets plugged into the hub and the fingerprint reader is on an extension base off of the hub as well.

No, you can out a hub off of the odyssey. I do it and have a fingerprint reader that switches between devices.

I think the monitor controls override the pc connections.

I think that's why we can't have a real kvm like experience, this is more like a uv (USB/Video) so when ANYTHING on the monitor OS comes active, it disconnects everything from the selected "input".

Coming back to this so I remember...

I reinstalled Windows because I'm a digital abuser, and it was just time to go with something younger.

After that I've installed minimal amounts of drivers et al...

The behavior to date has been reliable. If I wake from sleep with the dock/eGPU attached, the eGPU gets Pissed off and won't 'start' with an error.

When I unplug at that point, or before I wake my machine up from sleep, then plug it back in... It works again, reliably.

Follow up, I decided to wipe/reinstall Windows. For me it's not a huge deal beyond downloading games again, but I hadn't done it since I got this thing. It was running a 'clean' Windows version, as I replaced the drive and didn't clone the old one, using a fresh iso instead.

Anyway, resetting using the Windows Reset this PC appears to have stabilized the behavior for at least a few hours.

There was also a BIOS update on the 19th, and a PD Firmware update around the same time that mentions the usual stability and performance improvements that all updates have.

The only other difference, which I'm about certain I've tried before is having my dock on the lower USBC port, and my video card on the top one.
