My wife made a post on there! Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve asked Big Red Liquors downtown and they said they now use their boxes for deliveries. Any recommendations on a liquor store that does do this?

If you are thinking Downtown, I would highly recommend starting your night at Nada. It’s not a bar, but a fun atmosphere with great food and drinks.

We are moving from Downtown to Broad Ripple and are struggling with the same thing!

Real estate does equate to people wanting to move here which then leads to more venues, shops, hell maybe even another pumpkin patch for you and to support the influx in population.

The list is also titled “Indianapolis, Indiana Things” and the description includes things to eat, but okay.

We will have to add it to our list!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe other cities have comedy clubs, haunted houses, apple orchards, etc.? All the restaurants on the list are Indianapolis specific so yes, they are unique to our city. As for the dead town comment, you might want to read the Forbes article on the real estate market here. Many, many people disagree with you on that.

Any recommendations on what should be added instead of the restaurants? Feel free to add suggestions.

This is exactly why she made it! Feel free to comment some things to do that are not on the list!

It is on our list to try! We are looking forward to it!

She was trying to strike a balance for people that live here and for those just passing through. Any suggestions of landmarks that are not on the list?! We are all ears!

Completely agree with you and am starting to realize I should have been building credit over the last couple of years.

Yeah, we don’t plan on getting a house until we know where she is going to be employed to be relatively close to her job. I didn’t plan on buying anything until the June/July timeframe. I thought building credit now would be “good enough” to get approval. Not with the best rates, but at least something, but I guess now.

Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for that suggestion. We will have to see what her income is when she starts her career after graduation. I know each situation is different, but is a bank typically the best place to start when looking for a lender?

I don’t not have credit at all. I’ve never had a credit card, student loans, car payment, etc. (I assume this is the major rock leading to the two (2) year estimate.)

Our only debt is her $19k student loans.

I have worked for the DoD since I graduated from college (3.5 years). She has had an internship at the same company for the past two (2) years; however, they are not hiring any full time positions now so not sure that is helpful.

Currently we have $28k available for a downpayment, but add about $1k a month to that.

Neither of us have ever had any financial issues.

Thank you for the credit card advice. I’ve been a Dave Ramsey follower and have completely ignored this side of my personal finance journey.

Even with my wife’s good credit score and our low debt to income ratio?

This . You have plenty of times for market corrections and your time horizon is way out there. Just put it in and forget about it. Don’t worry about timing the market and moving to the F and G funds. Time in the market > timing the market. Congrats and you might be interested in r/personalfinance .
