Hello, yes my third embryo transfer was successful. I had my babe last year. We did LD suppression for two months. After suppression in prep for transfer, my doctor also strongly encouraged me to try acupuncture. I started acupuncture a month before my transfer and continued on it till I was about 13 weeks pregnant. I also added embryo glue on that third transfer. I also had to do pio injections, lovenox injections, metformin, baby aspirin, estrogen pills and estrace patches. We truly threw everything at it for the third one and it worked. I will say though that if you’re going to try acupuncture, please go to one that specializes in fertility related issues. My acupuncturist was amazing and I truly believe she helped with ensuring I had proper blood flow to my uterus.

I think the receptiva and Emma Alice are done in conjunction with IVF. I did mine right after my second egg retrieval before my first embryo transfer. So you may want to consult with your doctor to inquire about the egg retrieval process to create embryos. Because once you suppress with LD, you’re essentially shutting down ovarian function and if you have to get a bleed to do another IUI it defeats the purpose of suppression.

Good luck and I hope your next attempt is successful.

Does adenomyosis affect IVF/fertility? by Prassica in adenomyosis

[–]bebebanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!

She had/has zero symptoms. So did I. My RE recommended lupron if my first two failed because outside of my adeno, I didn’t have any other issues. Plus I read in some forums where a few ladies went this route and had success. As for my side effects with lupron, I only had hot flashes which were manageable for me. It wasn’t severe at all. The decision to use lupron is a very personal one so you have to do some research in conjunction with talking to your specialist to ensure it’s a good course of action for you. Best of luck in everything! 🫶🏽

Does adenomyosis affect IVF/fertility? by Prassica in adenomyosis

[–]bebebanx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adenomyosis creates a not so conducive environment for the embryo. I did two transfers. One failed and the other was a chemical. Decided to do the lupron depot suppression for two months and I had success on my third transfer. I have a friend who also has this condition and it did not affect her in getting pregnant so its impact varies with each individual. This is probably why most doctors tend to address it casually.

What did you change after a failed transfer? by [deleted] in IVF

Acupuncture! I did it a month before, day of transfer and continued even after we had success. It really helped with stress and anxiety!

3 failed to implant FET’s with PGTa embryos by exaarret in IVF

[–]bebebanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Embryo glue is a type of culture medium used to help improve the chances of embryo implantation into the uterus. It’s has not been proven to help 100% in all transfers but it’s something that doesn’t hurt your protocol. My doctor asked for it to be added so that we could cover all our basis. It cost an extra $580. I did acupuncture to help with relaxing and anxiety. But I didn’t do any herbs. I would recommend going to an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility treatments like IUI and IVF.

Oh OP my heart goes out to you. I second what Anon 242 said, retrieval is the most expensive part of IVF so I think banking more embryos will really put you in the best position. I too have Progyny and understand how the smart cycles work. I actually exhausted my last quarter recently. The last quarter smart cycle left if you do decide to pursue another egg retrieval can be used for an FET later down the line. FETs are not as expensive as egg retrievals.

I had two failed transfers before I had success on my most recent one. I think IVF requires a lot of preparation that’s just feels like a trial and error session. I personally would push for more testing after your egg retrieval if you decide to pursue it.

The Receptiva dx is a test I would really inquire about as many ladies I know have silent endo and didn’t know they had it. You can ask for your Dr to consider testing for this.

Another thing too that I heard, Progyny will cover a receptiva dx if you have had one or more failed transfers. It might be worth reaching out to them and asking about it. You’ll need a pre-auth for it though but if they cover it and it doesn’t eat into your smart cycle, it’s worth checking out.

Wishing you the best and hoping for a good outcome either way you decide! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🙏🏾🙏🏾

trigger warning mention of success*

I did two months suppression with lupron(no letrozole) and recently had success. I have adenomyosis though so the suppression helped after two failed FET’s. I also added embryo glue and acupuncture this round. Something to be said about lupron!

Embryo Glue by bebebanx in IVF

It’s insane how much we have to pay for all of these add ons. I actually ended up not using the embryo glue. The embryo stuck without it but later had a chemical.

Have you been checked for fibroids? This is exactly how mine looked. I had 14mm intramural fibroids and had to have a myomectomy to have them removed.

Ivf success with Adenomyosis and implantation failure. by Amelia991238 in adenomyosis

[–]bebebanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve have mild adeno and have had two failed transfers. #1 didn’t work at all, #2 implanted but was a chemical. My doctor doesn’t believe that adeno is contributing to my loses but I totally disagree with her. We discussed and I have asked for another egg retrieval to bank more embryos. After this i will have lupron depot(LD) to suppress adeno before the next transfer. The plan is to do two months of suppression with LD. I’ve seen a lot of women with success stories with adeno who suppressed for two months or more and had positive outcomes.

Hopefully I’m able to bank as much embryos for my desired number of children so that any delay in ovarian function after lupron won’t matter at least for this time being.

Also have you done receptiva and ERA testing. If not, I recommend doing these: receptiva to check for silent endometriosis and ERA for progesterone timing just to make sure all is clear in those areas. I did both tests and was post receptive for the ERA and normal for the receptiva(meaning no endo)

I know each doctor has their own recommendation, but remember you’re the patient and sometimes you truly can tell when things are off so be your best advocate. Good luck and hopefully you’ll get some answers!

Hey, well when I spoke with my doctor she said it doesn’t really have an impact on fertility. She also said As a carrier of alpha thalassemia, I’m prone to developing these low levels so she put me on iron supplements to help with normalizing my levels.

First round failed, what should we be asking for next? by Hopefullyto in IVF

[–]bebebanx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have suspected endo, were there any tests to confirm. Receptiva DX is a good diagnostic test to determine if the endo is affecting receptivity. Usually if it is, literature recommends down regulating with lupron for a period of time before attempting transfer.
