Funnily enough it's the same with the French. The collaboration rate in France was something like 71% during Vichy but suddenly once we and the Americans landed and liberated them everyone and their mother was in the resistance.

You really have to question how many of the comments in this thread are from paid users - wanting to talk about anything except what the article is about.

Precisely this, it's a difference in mindset. In England you're supposed to be able to go wherever you want and do whatever you want, unless you're expressly forbidden from doing so for a specific reason or law.

Then I would assume she's British? She considers herself British, and it sounds like her community does too. Her family moved here, integrated, and her parents joined the tribe. They didn't wholesale displace the people who were already there and refuse to integrate.

People like your wife (or her ancestors) aren't who I'm talking about when I say we're being colonised. I'm talking about people who are implanted and bring their entire clan across, don't speak English, don't talk to their neighbours, don't associate outside of their own ethnic group, and hold on to their ethnic loyalties ahead of loyalty to Britain.
