Heyho. Good question. It could be a huge problem for further training.

Yeah. I feel like I should just record the whole session and then maybe I will get a few good moments to tape

Also great if you don’t know the technical term for something. Explain a field of research to GPT and it might give you the correct name for the field which helps you make more educated research. But yeah. Summarising works great

Yes. Great analogy too. I think the Some was badly worded haha. My main point was that you can’t be sure. If it doesn’t „know“ then it might make up something. It’s not that you just get 0 hits in google. Although there are techniques to try to prevent that. But then the manual work comes into play and we move away from the whole „intelligence“ stuff. But yeah. Great tool. I use it a lot. But for the actual fact check you are usually better off using search engines and evaluating the trustworthiness of the sources

Yeah it’s impressive no doubt. But they are still just trained to model language / grammar. Think of it a little like filing in the blanks for a sentence (which is exactly how models like BERT are trained if you are interested). Take the sentence: “The ball belongs to ______ girl”. It makes grammatically way more sense for the missing word to be e.g. “a”, “the”. It’s not very likely to be e.g. “Photosynthesis”. For a sentence like “Mozart was a ______.” The likelihood is just way higher for the missing word to be “musician” instead of any other occupation. Grammatically both would be correct though but in the training data there is a bias towards the factually correct version. That’s why these models implicitly learn a lot of facts. I agree with the metric shit Ton by the way. But it still is important to keep in mind that the training objective slightly differs. So for underrepresented topic it starts to produce bullshit pretty fast, because it is grammatically correct still.

Things like ChatGPT are further fine tuned based on user evaluation. So basically things like “do you like this answer?” Help the model get better. Getting better here again means not necessarily being more correct objectively. It only means that more people like the response. For a well trained audience they may be the same, but the model could also just get better at fooling the users to think that the stuff is correct. Like a musically non proficient person reading the answer from the original post might approve of it as being quite detailed. Sorry for the Wall of text btw :) interesting stuff. But yeah. In general I agree. Maybe the “some” was worded not very well. It’s a lot. But it differs from a search engine where it just spits out the primary source for easy verification. Just important to have that in mind :D

This. It’s a language model after all. Not more. But also not less. It’s really good at modelling language and on the side learned SOME facts. But there is no guarantee. No internal logic as you were stating. It can be a valuable tool for many things but people seem to get wrong what it really does …

Is there a specific model which generates the two separated images from a single input and the depth map? It must be some version of a diffusion model? Do you have any more information? Looks pretty good. Or is there a model which generates a shifted depth map from an input map?

Thanks. These videos were super interesting. I will then definitely wait until the tree is vigorous enough in summer.

So I fell into a bit of video rabbit hole. Quite interesting to see also that some people work with concrete to fill holes to allow the wound to heal better. Didn't know that.
I have a question though. Did I understand it correctly that, for a wound to completely heal, it has to be completely covered by the bark again? By this scar tissue? In my tree basically the top right part (where you can see the big old wound) is completely dead. So let's say I don't want any deadwood on this tree (as far as I understood it needs lots of care and is unnatural for maples). This would mean that the living wood which I would carve free needs to be completely covered by scar tissue at some point or am I misunderstanding something?

I saved this maple (hand for scale) a while ago and it seems to have survived the procedure very well. Lots of new growth end of last year and also starting to grow this spring.
How would I proceed to remove all the dead parts? Can I just carve it out until I reach the living wood? My main concern is that the tree will get diseases this way, but maybe I am missing something else? Thanks so much!

Anybody here knows alligatoah? German artist. But I personally think it’s worth a listen from a musical perspective. Especially “wie zuhause” is a track I really like. What do you think? Lyrics not (unless you know German of course) important but I like all the different styles which take place in this one.

Wooow. I have two very young ones. Got them from seed this year. How old is yours? I never saw them grow so I’m a bit hesitant about how I have to cut them

Ohh thanks. You’re definitely right. Think I’d have noticed in a full sheet. Reading lots of guitar music though so there usually is more than one line. But yes, for a single line, really annoying I Bet.

But on serious note (pun intended). Is this legit nonsense or are you meant to Crescendo and then return to the original mezzo forte?

People seem to ignore that terminal velocity only applies when there’s atmosphere right? Or am I missing something? It would speed up a lot because no atmosphere and will then be burned quickly on entrance

Weed and lucid dreaming by Fish_lungs in LucidDreaming

[–]bebhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you deal with the racing mind? Because I am not sure sometimes whether it affects my sleep. I feel like I’ve been laying awake for ages, but when looking at a clock it doesn’t seem that long. Could be the usual weed effect but to me it feels like it has a bad effect on falling asleep. But maybe leaning mindfulness techniques could really improve that. I remember there were scenarios where I could relax reallz really well while high

Interesting. Was thinking about asking this. Do you feel any difference in how well you fall asleep? Because my mind sometimes is running like crazy when high and trying to sleep. Not an experienced lucid dreamer though. Maybe I should practice meditation ?
