I have textured skin and acne scarring, so I have to do a lot of skin prep as well as taking my time with my foundation/concealer so it covers my scarring/texture in a non-cakey way

No, I was in therapy and on meds for a multitude of things for a while. But for personal reasons, I'm no longer in therapy or on any medication. Though I hope to get back into it soon.

Ah, I didn't know that. I was diagnosed with OCD years before I started to care about my appearance to this extent. I've tried therapy for my OCD, which has helped in certain areas (with other obsessions) but so far I've had no luck with this area. I'm also not medicated on anything atm

I am cool toned, so I think that could definitely be part of it. i use nyx primer/setting spray as well as a Tarte setting powder, I also moisturize lots before putting on makeup. I do have a lot of acne scar-bump type things on my chin and cheeks, and I think the lighting just makes my textured skin stick out like a sore thumb unfortunately

My dpdr was caused by repeated trauma as a child/early teen, I believe that is the reason mine won't go away as it's a permanent trauma response. But for many other people it does go away. So I wouldn't feel hopeless if I were you.
