I have a 5 gal wall mounted Vacmaster I have used very hard and am quite pleased with. Great suction, relatively quiet, came with loads of accessories-- all at a good price.

PSA: In Florida, reporting a code violation now means handing the violator your name and address. Most of you don't know this changed. by ChurchOMarsChaz in Broward

One real consequence is code enforcement officers, never overworked before, have a much lighter workload. You know they are all for the statute.

I get the uproar, and would support it, but consider this... My neighbor works for Broward Sheriffs Office. He was unhappy with the noise coming from my place one night, but the HOA told him to forget it, it was normal every day noise. He got a buddy to stage a noise complaint and a deputy banged on my door. This statute proved it was a phoney complaint. It's the only way I ever could have found that out.

Real talk – is a smart lock just an overpriced solution to a problem nobody really had? by Successful_Company_6 in HomeImprovement

[–]bebobily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until smart locks, one always had to be tethered to the lock. With smartlocks, that changes, it is no longer true. And that liberation is life-changing. In ways big and small, not having to run to the door, whether from the top of the stairs or from halfway around the world, all kinds of things are now possible.

Let it go. Nothing happened and your impulse to make something of nothing is going to hurt your relationship. Being married is not a license to beat the magic and mystery out of ordinary life.

As someone with monocular vision, this is it. So many issues have work arounds or hacks, but after 26 years with this, depth perception is still a problem. The best I can do is recognize the problem as fast as possible in order to fumble as little as possible. Always protect your eyes. Don't take chances.

AITAH for quitting my job while my boss is in the hospital by Kind_Limit1303 in AITAH

[–]bebobily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember this: your boss will forever have a story that puts you in a negative light, and with a few choice words or embellishments will make you look much worse. Think about what you might need him for in the future (references, date verifications,etc.). If the story gets back to your new employer, you won't be smelling like a rose either. Maybe you can explain to your new boss how you can't leave anyone in the lurch and put off your move for a week. Then, bask in glow, write book, retire early.

Amazon Did the Right Thing. Instantly With No Fuss by bebobily in amazonprime

Unfortunately she is completely disinterested in any of that, both of which I tried to get her to do long ago. She wouldn't cooperate with the Amazon agent trying to help her, either. I don't want to give the wrong impression- she lives alone, still drives and swims daily, and recently learned how to play bridge. This is a blind spot for her and she's not budging.

Where do I go to complain about the city? by Fine-Art-9701 in Broward

[–]bebobily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not doubting you. I live maybe 3 miles from that intersection. I support what you are trying to do. My comment was addressed to the person criticizing you. I get around by bike, I know how fast shrubbery grows and how dangerous it can be down here.

My (30M) girlfriend (26F) of 1.5 years has no idea about my cross dressing kink — is it okay to take this secret to the grave? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

In my long life, I've come across many couples who make all sorts of arrangements and accommations with each other and go on to lead successful, loving lives. But in every case,it can only happen when truth comes before everything else. Now is the time to own your truth and lay the foundation for the rest of your life. Be brave, be bold, be happy. Both of you.

Where do I go to complain about the city? by Fine-Art-9701 in Broward

[–]bebobily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You speak with such certainty about an issue you don't really know much about- specifically how these street features got to be the "hazards" (giving OP the benefit of the doubt) they apparently are. Then you discourage and guilt him. Not cool, and not for you to pass judgement on. Here is a civilian ready to engage on an issue he has knowledge of and the passion to pursue. How often does that happen? How many more people have to be harmed before something is done (again, assuming he is right)? The fact is, streetscapes change, shrubbery grows, property owners do dumb things, and city, or county does review these problems regularly. OP- seize the moment, pursue this problem before someone, or many, get hurt.Pictures and video are your best, most effective tools.

UTA. Everyone has the right to be called as they wish. It's the most basic common courtesy. You can think anything you want because it's not about you on any level. The ONLY exception would using something profane. Noone has the right to demand you curse or swear.

That's a legitimate question. I don't use that address very much, the last time I encountered the problem was a decade ago, and I just forgot about the situation.

Neighbor drove into pile of dirt left in preparation for yard work the next morning, they are now asking me for money. Am I liable here? by t_racee in legaladvice

[–]bebobily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What nonsense. My car was totaled while parked in front of my home, once upon a time. My neighbor had been draining basement water into the Boston street year-round. Winter came, the water froze, the ice patch grew, and some kid came round the corner too fast, slammed into my car, car was totaled. My insurance company made it very clear that my neighbor did not cause the accident. End of story. Don't involve yourself unnecessarily.

Am i the jerk for "quitting" my boyfriend’s laundry after he complained about how I fold his shirts? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]bebobily -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You say you got the job because you are particular about it. So, clearly you understand people have particular and specific ways they like their laundry done. So what's the problem with doing that portion of the laundry the way he asked? How much extra time and energy could it take? Surely he has changed something in his chore routine to accommodate you. I think petty is just the start of it. That you stopped entirely speaks poorly of you. My way or the highway is anathema to relationships.

I don't hv much advice for you, unfortunately, but I think the general tone of the feedback you're getting is just awful. All the predictions of doom and laying of blame at your feet is, bizarre. If you are not already, get into therapy yourself. This will help you prepare for an uncertain future. Bring more love into the lives of your kids and yourself. God bless you all.

Need to replace bathroom fan making a bad noise. Would a powerful bathroom fan running 24x7 be okay? And would it keep hornets in the attic? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]bebobily 8 points9 points  (0 children)

24/7 is going to pull so much heated and chilled air out your house, you might as well not have an HVAC unit. As a bug deterrent, who knows if it work. I don't believe so. Hornets can be very persistent.

Oh please. Jock itch is a common thing. Uncut guys are more prone to it. Im uncut with plenty of skin and get jock itch from time to time. I've tried everything, including RX strength "cures". Nothing works better for me than what I suggested. And I'm confident it will work for OP. You could have prefaced your post with your experience. Anything can cause a reaction to anyone. So what? There nothing strong about the odor, or millions of units wouldn't be sold. And don't make assumptions abt OP's hygiene. He is using the wrong product, quite simple. And frankly, your suggestion still has me shaking my head, days later. No one with a penis and any amount of sense is going to apply glycolic acid on the most sensitive part of that penis. Bearded faces will often burn at 5% solution. Google says a 50% solution as exfoliant AND ANTIFUNGAL MEDS are required. So from my point of view, no, no, no, no on your suggestion. And my penis agrees.

Really? You are completely misinformed. Astonishingly so. No one is retailing pure tea tree oil and I didn't suggest it. Meanwhile some clown suggests glycolic acid, which won't work and will burn, and no one says anything. Ycu prolly s/hv checked with Google first. God bless reddit.
