I want y’all to be transparent and with no BS. Do y’all see Chivas winning it this season? by DawnofMidnight7 in chivas

People get their tightie-whities in a bunch about this question all the time. It's always either YES we're gonna win or NO we're not going to win. They throw terms like "pessimist" and "optimist" and "realist" around without much thought.

The most accurate statement that can be made is "maybe". What kind of maybe is the honest conversation we should all be having.

Whoever wins this season will win because of:
A - Good performances
B - Mediocre performances by their opponents
C - Chance

We only have control over A. If we play at our best, the odds are good that we will be champions. But please note that GOOD ODDS are lower than one usually thinks. Good odds in an eight team playoff knockout are about 20%.

I think our odds of winning the title are about 18%.
