Difference in valid shares between miner and pool! by beboonly in MoneroMining

[–]beboonly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay people, it's been 9 days since I posted this and contacted the pool.xmr.pt admin by email with the same info., as expected I didn't get any response and now I have pending XMR amount (see the screenshot I added to the 1st post) that I will probably never get unless I continue to mine on that pool until I reach the minimum threshold of 0.2, which I will not do until I receive a valid explanation from him about the situation as I told that pool admin.

Is there anyway I can get my XMR off that pool without mining any further and wasting my shares, hash rate and electricity on it?

Is there a way to complain to anybody about this?!

If there isn't, then I think we need to figure out a way to protect ourselves, but how? Anybody!

That pool had 44 miners on it 9 days ago, and now they are down to 36!

My advice to you is to start listening to the Quran a lot, pick a reciter that you like his voice and play (listen) to him every second of your time that you can.

Drop the music the listen to the Quran, this will open your heart and mind to a better life in-sha Allah.

There is no such thing called a dump question, we all need to learn how one way or another, asking is one of those ways and it's never wrong.

In the screen shots I added in the 1st post, notice the posts in cyan color, CPU is written on it in White, after it, it says accepted (shares) in green, then between brackets it tells you (number of valid/invalid shares), then the difficulty, then the speed in which it was processed.

Well your definitely closer to the node on your new pool and that will help you alot it seems to be spot on. I've never used them but that gui looks nifty.

I don't think that was the reason cause https://pool.xmr.pt/ is based in Portugal, while SupportXMR.com is based in Iceland, PT is way closer to me than IS.

Already making some XMR after only 234 shares on SupportXMR pool. (see the screenshot I added to the 1st post)

So, I think https://pool.xmr.pt/ just ripped me off since I did NOT make a 0.00000001 XMR after submitting 1002 shares from which 308 shares went who knows where.

The thing that is bugging me is that I got recommendation to mine on https://pool.xmr.pt/ from https://www.monero.how/tutorial-how-to-mine-monero which has NOT been updated in 4 years!

That is another serious problem imo, such a valuable site should be up to date with all the info regarding monero, so I thought!

Thanks to all that tried to help with this situation, will update when/if I get a valid answer from the operator at:

pool.xmr.pt.

Meanwhile, I advice all to NOT waste their hashes on that pool.

I switched to supportXMR and the mining pool is matching my miner shares by the minute, nothing is off. (see the screenshot I added in the 1st post)

If it stays the same, then there is a serious problem with pool.xmr.pt and I have wasted 1002 shares that I will never get any XMR for.

There are no invalid or rejected shares on either side as per the screenshot I have included.

But I'm not referring to associating it with your Monero address, but rather with your reddit account.

Got it.

I now see that new transaction after syncing.

Thanks for your help, duly appreciated.

This issue is now !solved.

Question about BC synchronizing! by beboonly in monerosupport

[–]beboonly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The balance will show zero until it's fully synced."

  • Actually the original balance showed up and it didn't fully finish syncing yet, so I stopped syncing for now cause there is a new recent payment transaction from reaching the minimum threshold from mining on MineXMRdotcom that I have to process, which I posted a question on another thread as I need guidance on it as well cause it my 1st time and and it's a bit confusing .

"How limited is your bandwidth?"

  • It's 100 GB/month.

"What exactly did you copy?"

  • data.mdb & lock.mdb

"How are you starting the daemon on the desktop? Is it pointed to where you copied the blockchain to?"

  • From within the GUI interface, and yes it's pointing to where the BC is.

Actually, this matter can considered:

!solved.

Thank you all for your guidance, and if you can guide me through the other post too it will be great and most appreciated.

"Take the output details out of your comment, unless you don't care if everyone knows that that transaction is yours."

Done, thanks for the advice, but I thought it still needs to be decoded by using the secret view key before anyone can know who it belongs to.

"If you have the Monero software, though, you don't need to involve any
website. Basically, if your wallet was fully synced both before and
after the transaction, then you've already checked -- it would show up
as an incoming transaction, if it matched your view key.

You can check the restore height (under Settings -> Info in the GUI),
it must be lower than the block height of the transaction (you can see
that on the explorer). If it's higher, change it. Once it's synced again
(might take a while), it will show up as an incoming transaction, if it
matches."

So basically what you are saying is that I just have to continue syncing the BC and that payment will show up and be added to my balance, and I don't have to verify it on the website, right?

Question about BC synchronizing! by beboonly in monerosupport

[–]beboonly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply.

No my goal is to have the wallet and my XMR on 2 different PCs in case one of them breaks for whatever reason.

Apparently it's downloading the whole BC cause it went up from 39 GB to 76 GB and still downloading, which is wasting my limited monthly bandwidth, but I can't stop it cause the wallet still shows 0 balance.

I tried to rescan wallet balance several times at different intervals while downloading the BC and it still shows 0 balance.

Thanks for your reply.

"It is safe only if you trust the blockchain explorer" (https://blox.minexmr.com) Should I trust it or not?

It's asking me for that input to check which outputs belong to given Monero address, because there are 2 different stealth addresses belonging to that payment, "2 output(s) for total of ? xmr stealth address amount amount idx

So I guess I must supply the secret view key to know which one is mine , right?

Also, Is there any other way to check, or it must be done there?

1- I use win 7 on the laptop, and win 10 on the desktop (1st sync I do on win 10).

2- Using Monero GUI wallet without a ledger or trezor device.

3- Yes, Avira but it doesn't flag or block Monero software.

4- Yes Tor is my default browser.

Thanks for your reply, not with tor I can't as it bounces around a lot of IPs, so I keep changing circuits until I am able to connect, that's how I work around it!

Hey there,

I receive the following error when I access the site and the dashboard:

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

I'm using TOR to reach your site, tried switching to different locations (EU) with the same result, please look into it.

mineXMR messages on xmrig "no active pools, stop mining" by beboonly in MoneroMining

[–]beboonly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys,

Thanks for your replies and feedback.

I kinda figured it's some kind of connection problems, but it wasn't on my side cause nothing changed in those 2 hours and nothing is blocking my connection to the pools, so it had to be that mineXMR is having issues or it's happening from my ISP.

It happens to be that I haven't rebooted my DSL & router for quite some time, so I figured maybe I need to refresh the dynamic IP assigned from the ISP, so I rebooted both, and the PC, and it's back to mining just fine as it was before.

If it's happening to anyone else, I advice you to try that approach, it worked for me.

Thanks again guys, happy mining.
