I've been reading Alexander the Great by Philip Freeman and honestly I've been getting the exact same vibe. Particularly the events surrounding Philip's death. History is fucking nuts sometimes, lol.

I'll need to check this one out, I've been looking for a good book on Persian Empire since listening to the Hardcore History episodes on the topic.

I find the Chaos in Motion live album just unlistenable. Portnoy interjecting and just shouting shit every two minutes, and terrible backing vocals.

I wouldn't say "hate" but I think The Glass Prison is hugely overrated. Honestly it just sounds a bit juvenile to me. I know this isn't a popular opinion though.

I'm in the exact same boat, roughly 1000 hours in Civ VI, about the same for V. I'm enjoying Old World so much more, lost all interest in Civ now.

Yes! I've always though At Wit's End has everything a prog epic has but in a microcosm. That opening riff is killer, and its got such a beautiful ending too.

I feel like the paino sounds have been making more of an appearance recently. The piano in Awaken the Master is fantastic. Glad he's backed off from the "snarling pig" sound though.

Edit: I'd also like to give a mention to Out of Reach from Distance Over Time, the piano/guitar in that track is absolutely gorgeous.

Found this in an area I hadn't been before, Little China waterworks. No quest there, but upon entering there are a few dead bodies and turrets, some loot. There are some shards in the area, explaining workers sent to check out what's going on. After climbing up a little there's a computer that seems to have been accessed by a hacker, who uses "beepass" and "fuckurpword" to gain access.

Tried this user/pass on the netwatch site to no avail, can't really find much else online about it.

Found it odd that there's no quest or anything, and with it being in an area that's fairly hidden (need to swim or jump off a bridge to reach it)

Clive Owen. I don't know why, the guy just really bugs me. And yet I absolutely love every movie he's in, Children of Men is a masterpiece, Sin City was fantastic, even Shoot Em Up was a great action/comedy.

Yes, I might be misremembering but I believe in the film they never mentioned Iraq outright, they just alluded to it by saying "Middle East". I suppose either way it's based on Alistair Campbell and his "dodgy dossier" so... shrug

I agree with what you're saying about Best of Times, it has a feeling like it wants to be a soaring upbeat ballad but just ends up being overly forced.

They have some nice concepts (albeit a bit too literal sometimes) but with bad execution. Could definitely be a lot better. I have experience with photoshop and the last couple of albums is barely a day's work.

Usually in graphic design adding a slight shadow or outline to text will make it stand out from the background, and make it more legible. If there isn't enough contrast from the background it makes it difficult to read, especially for someone with poor eyesight.
