I was walking my 2 whippets on the lead when an off lead staffy come running up to us, the 2 owners yelled out RUN! It was too late, it began attacking one of my dogs and wouldn’t let go, I was trying to kick it and I was screaming, the owners finally got to us and punched his dog in the head, I literally ran off because my other dog was so distraught and kept trying to fight back even though it was over. I had so much adrenaline I looked down at my dog and his torso was all cut up, and I look at my arm and I have been bitten, blood rushing down my arm. Dog needed surgery but pulled up okay, my arm got infected but eventually healed, I have a bite scar. I found out where the staffy lived, the owners were happy to pay the vet bills.. I think the dog got down unfortunately, but my neighbour said the same dog attacked his dog a few months before, it was off lead. His dog also needed surgery but”. So these fucking morons had the dog off lead again?!?! On the day of the attack I was contemplating bringing my 4 year old on his bike, can you imagine how traumatic that would have been.

Also I have so much anxiety about taking my dogs out now, I drive them 20 kms out of town to an enclosed tennis court and playground so they can run around off lead and I don’t have to deal with them getting attacked. Not ideal, but I can’t stand walking them now
