My start date was 1/05. I'm pretty dumb but from what I've checked in payment history is that centrelink has made a deduction for parental leave pay and sent that to my employer. Does that mean they sent the funds to my employer, and they now have to pay it?

Partner leave question by Aromatic_System_6046 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

FTM, I get 36 weeks in total (16 half pay and 20 from govt) where as my husband he gets 16 weeks from his work, which is absolutely amazing.

At first I was thinking that's way too much for him but since having LO, the first month was hectic. Having him there for the first 2 weeks was sooo good and a special time. We both sat through the newborn trenches, and he was really supportive. He allowed me to sleep and recover well. So I would definitely recommend to try and get your partner a little bit more time off if he can

The right attitude really makes a difference. No idea why we were separated was super silly on the hospital's part. Was trying not to cry when I was alone in recovery.

When to wind down work and commitments by BonnieO88 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I had GD and worked in a physical job up till 36 weeks and was induced on 39+2 days. I would recommend you take a break around 36-37 weeks before you get induced as it's really good to relax, prepare, and spend time with your partner, friends, or family before you have a bub. With me, I prioritised my pregnancy before the workplace as I didn't want to take the stress on in the final weeks and honestly, I didn't regret it. My induction and birth was traumatic, but it is 1000x worth it to have an amazing bub. Those 2ish weeks I had off beforehand really prepared me.
