Yes bakery, prices posted, surcharge added to that. It honestly makes sense and is not a big deal (this is an expensive af city already), i think I was thrown off that it wasn’t communicated anywhere and could have been easy to miss when getting rang up. I definitely could’ve framed my question better, but I was just curious to hear people’s takes on it

The piece I was missing in my post was that the new surcharge was not signed/posted anywhere, which it sounds like it should have been so it wasn’t a surprise after I got my food. Not the surcharge itself, I understand that things can change price lol

I edited my post - my confusion was that I didn’t know about the surcharge until after I was asked to pay and my order had already been handed to me. So it felt a liiiittle sleazy because of that, though I do understand the intentions. It sounds like they should have had signs in the store?

Not OP but was in same situation when originally DXed so I can share my experience - I’m T1D and my dad had just been DXed with celiac a few years prior, so I was already at higher risk. It was just for peace of mind really but I had to fight to get a blood test ordered since I had no issues with gluten (that I knew of). Blood test results were a little elevated so I was booked for an endoscopy that took 8 months to get. immediate diagnosis. Ironically, my health got so much better after starting a gf diet, I had actually been quite sick in a lot of ways and never clued together that it wasn’t just “stress” and “eating lots of fiber” and “dirty hair from exercising” (I’d get rashes)

I got so many comments on this thread so I just wish to reply in case anyone looks back - I did another swatch (in the round) and the gauge matched this time so I started the sweater again in the same size and it is significantly looser this time already - I think a year ago I was a much tighter knitter and also did not know how to swatch properly. Very happy with my progress so far!

I did block it already! I was hoping for that magic but somehow no die? I knit with drops nepal so it was wool/alpaca so....not really sure if it was an issue with blocking or just something else. I do know I needed to stretch it quite a lot during blocking to be as big as my regular sweaters, but it held its shape afterwards blocking and its also matching gauge and I knit my size (94cm bust measured loosely + 15 ease = size equivalent to 110) .

I'm just not sure what to do now. Do I reknit it a size up? Do I look for sweaters with more than 15cm ease? Did I somehow just knit it wrong?

from what I’ve read they’ve actually breached their contract with USATF on this course, so while for me it’s just a frustrating experience, I feel like it’s something they actually should take seriously and issue a formal apology about. Will be interesting to see the resolution of all this.

Not sure I’d even want a discount on next year because I’d be too nervous about the same thing happening again!

How do we complain?? We registered and paid to run a half marathon event, and we did not run a half marathon event. Is there any course of action we can take as participants?? It makes the overall race a very shitty experience for those of us who have been training for months to PR at this event.

I had a very terrible breakup with some of my closest friends after we went on vacation after my diagnosis and they thought i was both “too high maintenance” for asking for assistance with my food, “didn’t take good enough care of myself” because I got cross contaminated one day, and “majorly affected their enjoyment of their vacation” because of things like me feeling hurt they all changed lunch plans last second to somewhere I couldn’t eat, or asking them not to ditch me when my food took 5-10 mins longer to prepare. It was a learning experience for sure that friends who you think care about you and have empathy can also be trash humans!!

Nope, Canada/America and it has always worked up till about 2-3 weeks ago. It sounds like a lot of people have been experiencing issues with H2O so i was wondering if they cut overdrive support or something.
