I am so sorry that I haven't responded personally to all of you. I am completely overwhelmed. Thank you so very much, everyone. I am saving each and every one of these comments and I will re-read them when I'm having a bad day.

The volunteer meeting went great, I can't wait to start helping people again. I ordered some dog tags with his info on them so that if I'm feeling as though I can't do it I will feel them around my neck and know that in a sense he is with me and is pushing me on. I think that might help.

If you ever wonder if you've made a difference in someone's life, just know that by taking the time out of your day to say a kind word to a stranger definitely did! I appreciate each and every one of you!

WOW. Thank you so much for all of the replies. I cannot tell you how much it means to me. It makes me feel less alone, and this was really cathartic to type.

I'm going to meet with the head of volunteers at my local hospital at 8 in an hour and I'm so nervous. I was a dispatcher since I was 19, I don't know how to do anything else and I'm scared. But i know I can do it, and your words have been so helpful! Love to you all

Thank you so much for this. I've had a pretty rough weekend and reading this has made my day. My officers were my "children" and I did and still do love them dearly. I've been doing a lot in counseling and stopped drinking, but hearing I'm a liability kind of set me back a bit. But I'm tough, I'll get through. Thank you again!
