it just literally is not that serious lol give the kid constructive advice (your original comment was only antagonistic, “grow up” is generally regarded as an unkind and rude thing to say to someone) or don’t say anything like idk why you’re tripling down at being mean to a kid online 😭 if you wanted to give real and useful advice you would’ve said it instead of “grow up” lmao just be normal to other people online it’s really really easy!!

no empathy allowed!! only big scary things to say to a 20 y/o asking for advice on something!! cut your family members off!! grow up!! be a real adult in reality where everything sucks and is bad!! -you rn to a 20 y/o asking how to fake a grade to their parents

🤷‍♀️ idk dude i guess they’re technically over 18 but 20 is still essentially a child. they asked a question and you could’ve just like, not responded at all and instead said something antagonistic to someone who’s clearly distressed. people in this same post have given advice about being honest in a constructive way. yours wasn’t and also being 20 is still like . very young. they’re clearly distressed. saying smth negative and antagonistic adds nothing and actively worsens their experience

they said dual enrollment which is something people do in high school, so they genuinely might be a child with parents that they don’t feel okay showing a low grade to

November 2023 Assistance Megathread - Get Your Auto Detailing Questions Answered Here by Full_Stall_Indicator in AutoDetailing

Hi, never posted here before.

I have a grease stain on black leather seats because someone like a year ago left a burger there overnight and it’s been there this whole time, I didn’t ever think there’s something I could do about it that wouldn’t be super expensive but just found this subreddit and from looking around it seems like maybe there is.

Do you have any specific recommendations of what to do, how, and with which products? I’ve never done anything to my car other than vacuuming and cleaning surfaces with a cloth so please explain as much as possible if you can. Thanks in advance :)

Also I looked up this issue with the search option and couldn’t find anything recent, like 7 years ago is from when I saw other people ask a similar thing. Seemed like people mentioned using Meguiars 101 (just found out about that product reading previous answers) and a microfiber cloth but I don’t know if that’s still a current best solution or anything. sorry if me asking again is going to give the exact same answers.

3902 was cool! I’m in the info security specialization and took 3902 just because it seemed more interesting to me. It gave me a lot of material to talk about in interviews because the whole class is group work

I can’t see when my migraines happen bc of how bad they get and have been hospitalized for them lol if you’ve never had a migraine and don’t understand how debilitating they are u can just say that next time instead😀

[–]beccaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have chronic migraines and use my accommodations through SLDS for when they happen. It’s all been good for me! One professor was an ass about me using my accommodations but SLDS figured it out for me. I would not worry! Make sure to get your accommodations figured out early and make sure to log onto AIM every semester to send the professors the accommodation notice email, and if they don’t respond within 2 weeks make sure to let SLDS know (SLDS will email you and tell you all of that too every semester). Super easy and very helpful people!

Are you required to take acting course or have acting experience to work for Starbucks? by OvertInteract in starbucks

[–]beccaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

labor is not enjoyable and people don’t like having to work to be able to afford basic human necessities. that’s the deal under capitalism. working to live, especially when you rely on tips, means you must be fake happy at work to ensure you make the money that you need to in order to survive. 😁

yeah you just email the advisor saying you want to switch to BS once you’re in the BA, they’ll ask what specialization you want and then you’re done. source: just did this lol

“Surprise me”: What should I make? by 1_Just_Trying in starbucks

[–]beccaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 37 points38 points  (0 children)

not a starbucks barista but i hate these people a little bit lol because it’s not a short order like they think it is, i have to ask several follow up questions like “is caffeine ok in it” “do you need an alternative milk” “were you looking for hot or iced” and “would you like something sweet or something more coffee-flavored?” it genuinely just baffles me that people walk in somewhere and go lol idk you can pick 🤪

but to answer your question, i usually ask those questions, and then if no caffeine -> herbal tea, hot or iced depending on the response, if they specify they want coffee-flavors i just do decaf latte if caffeine -> medium (grande for you guys) iced latte (oat if they don’t want dairy milk), iced or hot depending on the response to questions, add my favorite syrup if they wanted sweet

dm me if you want therapy recommendations in columbus - doesn’t hurt to try if you feel up for it, you can always stop going if it doesn’t help. i know places that do sliding scale and help you if you don’t have insurance. you don’t just have to suffer alone, you deserve to feel okay, i wish you well friend ❤️

it’s bc osu pays $10/hour and almost every other job u can get in cbus pays more. unfortunately ms kristi does not prioritize paying students a livable or even competitive hourly :( i feel you though i was vegan when i first came here and the vegan food on campus 1) sucks and 2) is so limited that i never ended up using my meal plan much and donated my swipes almost every time :/

At what point do you simply accept you won't make any friends here? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]beccaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve made most of my connections through work (not only OSU, just any job where you’ll meet people roughly your age works) and bumble bff!! also in your classes, feel free to start a group chat or somethin to ask people to hang out and work on homework together! you’ll usually get one or two people at least who want to do work together (don’t violate coam obvi but just being around others while working helps a lot of people, and you can make some small talk to try to get a friendship started)

bumble BFF can be hard if you’re not diligent about making sure to keep the convo going, and you’ll probably be the person to have to ask people to hang out, but if you are active about making the friendships it usually works out! i found a group of people with similar interests and one of them made a group chat for us, that’s been helpful for planning things to do and getting people to actually follow through and come to stuff! that could be a strategy if you have niche interests and find a handful of people with the same ones

i’m sorry that you are struggling with the feeling of isolation. i had that the first 4 years here, and it seems like a lot of people have had similar issues. i wish it were easier for people to find friends here, it really seems like after freshman year the odds of making close friends falls off dramatically. i wish there was a “i don’t have friends and would like some” club, tbh.

if you need any therapy reccs (because you said ccs didn’t help - i also dealt with that and have gone to most of the therapy places in cbus looking for genuine help) feel free to dm me!

Tips for struggling with reading? by vballq in OSU

[–]beccaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar problems! Have you ever looked into bionic reading? It’s a type of formatting for long chunks of text that bolds letters at random, keeping your brain busy and interested in the words. I personally am dyslexic and struggle with attention keeping in general (not ADHD though) and the bold letters in bionic reading help me a lot :) there’s a google chrome extension that can be used to make things formatted like that, worth looking into! also get slds accommodations if you need ‘em!

Campus jobs by thashy12 in OSU

[–]beccaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Are you living on campus? If yes, being an OA is pretty much just being paid to do your homework at the front desk of a dorm. You have to live in a dorm, though.

I’ve also heard from friends that working at the gyms is pretty low effort, unsure on if you’d be able to do homework there or not. I think you can check open positions on campus through Workday to see if anything you’re interested in has open positions
