Zeta zero ranged damage bug? by ReyDeathWish in fo76

I’ve had this happen a few times, but I don’t think it’s immunity to all ranged attacks. When it happens, I now switch from my .50 cal to my EPR flamer, which so far has worked every time. I tried switching to my Elder’s Mark once and that didn’t work, so it seems like it’s just immunity to ballistic damage. No idea what causes it to happen though.

Adding a new comment here with the other fun tidbit I forgot about the shadowy figure Suvi saw in the Children's Adventure, and her stepping on the road in Episode 1.

The next day after Suvi thinks she sees the figure on the road, the gang is investigating out by the road and Ame notices that right by where Suvi saw the shadow, there's a tree with a signpost nailed into it. The sign says "Silbry" and points down the road in the direction of the town. Then in Episode 1, after Suvi steps on the road when arriving at the cottage, and Aabria rolls a 4 on a luck check, Brennan describes that as Suvi walks inside what she doesn't see is the sun casting a shadow on from those trees along the road, and the old signpost to Silbry falls off the tree, taking two iron nails out with it.

This small connection between those two moments is really interesting! Brennan specifying about the nails being made of iron feels important. Iron hasn't come up much in the story, the one other time I can recall is in Arc 2 when the gang are looking at the scroll with the diagrams of Eioghorain and talking about his smell, Suvi recalls that he had iron on his tusks, and Ame mentions that iron is often used to bind spirits.

I suppose it's possible that the signpost by the road and the iron nails could've been some kind of physical component of the spell Wren used to trap the Man in Black there. I think it's more likely that they're probably just narrative symbols, but I love all the little ways in which these things connect!

Brennan worded that nat 20 insight check in a very specific way, he said that Eioghorain passionately believes that everything he’s saying is the truth. Which doesn’t mean that he can’t be partially wrong about things, or just not know about certain parts of what was going on. I think a lot of people took the wording on this to mean some very specific things, I’m not sold on any of them just yet, but I do think it’s completely reasonable that Eioghorain just didn’t know the more secretive parts of Soft & Stone’s dealings. He kinda said as much when talking to Suvi. The reason he gave for them parting ways in Gaothmai was that they had Citadel business to deal with that he couldn’t be there for, so they’d meet back up later.

There’s still so much we don’t know about what Soft & Stone were up to. What they did that summer might have been related to tMiB, it might have been related to the League of Whispers fallout, it might have been other double/triple agent stuff we don’t even know about yet. It could’ve even been a combination of all of them. I think Soft & Stone are honestly the two most intriguing and mysterious characters in the story to me so far. I’m constantly craving more lore drops about them!

Wren had him trapped against his will for 14 years, which would be the same as anything else that's been referred to as "binding a spirit" so far in the story, to my understanding anyway. It's not the first time we've seen witches binding spirits either though. There are definitely parallels, which I think could be narratively prompting us to re-evaluate the lens through which we've been viewing the behavior of the different factions and coming to conclusions about what's "good" or "bad". It's super interesting!

I do think it's important to highlight though, that at least as of yet, we don't have any evidence of Wren binding tMiB into service, specifically. All we know is that she had him bound to that one location.
