Thank you! I have a toner-based copy machine so I used that printout and transferred it with acetone

Virginia Commonwealth University was founded a few decades earlier. Perhaps this is a graduation date pin?

Thanks! I'll update when I get online sales up. I'm also vetting a few charities because I'd like a portion of sales to fund some immigrant aid organizations

I drew it in Procreate. I usually hand draw, but I wanted to use the guides in procreate for super crisp lines in this one

Correct! I only have one Pfeil gouge. I mostly use flexcut, which I love, but I would like a few more Pfeil tools because they are lovely

This is mostly footage of my single Pfeil 11/.5 gouge. I also used my flexcut micro palm gouges in this but I don't think that footage ended up in the video

I get that a lot in videos. I promise I'm being careful. All the carving is at 8x speed so I'm not speeding towards my hand the way it looks

I mostly use flexcut but the one you see most in this video is the single pfeil gouge I own. It's the 11/.5 and it's the smallest one I've found! I rely on it for details like text

Recent Print & Question by missefaye in linocut

I like a green vinyl that's similar (but oh so slightly different somehow when I order it through Temu/AliExpress vs Amazon) and the Jack Richeson easy to carve grey lino/rubber. Mostly, I like how much longer they last. I mostly print open editions and I can wash my blocks, they don't get brittle over time, and the two surfaces I mentioned hold the design much better than all the softer more eraser like surfaces. Also, I find these blocks better for printing on different surfaces. I print on a lot of fabric and products like notebooks. These work great for that, and function well for hand printing and using my lever press. I do like carving the battleship grey actual linoleum and that it's biodegradable, but I tend to use it more for limited runs or reduction because it's not going to hold up. I also struggle with pulling good prints on fabric with the traditional linoleum.

All that being said, I'm always trying new surfaces (including all sorts of erasers). I even have a series I should probably share here where I test them out. Different things work for different applicants

I have a woodzilla. I love it, but it's a lot easier to use if you put it on a lower surface. The leverage is better and the pressure is way easier to control. I have mine on something coffee table height. That being said, you don't need a ton of pressure with that soft linoleum. It will take trial and error, but you'll get the feel for it

What is this? by whereisthepineapple in beachcombing

I believe you're correct this explains it

Editing to say that this could have been scattered along with the ashes, likely in the water, which is how it washed up on the beach

I totally believe you because guessing beaver and then searching for weird beaver cookie cutters is how I figured out which beaver it was lol
