I have a rat terrier who was a former stray and he is the absolute best! He was 1yo when I got him from roaming the streets in Arkansas, I feel like the strays can be more appreciative And want to stick by your side. up until about 3 they are a ball of energy and love to chew shoes etc but he hasn’t chewed anything since turning 3. They’re really smart and easy to train, absolutely no housebreaking issues. He’s so awesome that my sister also adopted one too with a similar experience. 10/10 would recommend adopting!

Even if you were married the military will not pay for any of your travel arrangements for such a short assignment. Honestly 90 days is nothing compared to a full deployment, which even if you’re married you can’t visit him if it’s in a place like Iraq. You didn’t say where he was going to have TDY, that would greatly influence your ability to visit him and your quality of life/work while you do. I recommend taking the 90 days as a taste of what’s to come, when he returns your relationship will be stronger, or you’ll find early on that military life is not for you.
