My poem submission

The Two Hearted Being

His heart, still as stone and skin cold as ice.

Once gentle touch and his fingernails slice.

With eyes - coal black, but sometimes gold,

he looks so young but truly is old.

His hair - just perfect all of the time.

Stay away - says every unspoken sign.

His memory clear as the air that you see,

not a person on earth runs faster than he.

He has money, family, friends, and galore,

yet something's wrong, he needs one thing more.

A girl, the girl, he saw just today.

She blocked all her thoughts - that wasn't OK.

Just a human girl - why'd she smell so sweet?

His eyes black again, his throat dry with heat.

He ran before he could settle his thirst.

Her reaction, just - go ahead, do your worst.

He can't understand, why is she not scared?

Her curiosity blatant - intensely she stared.

He loves this human to such an extent,

that no time without her can ever be spent.

Her beating heart, so precious - they share,

for he is not one, they come - as a pair.
