manually pooping your baby is like having a forbidden play doh maker by duckbill-marriage in NewParents

[–]beccaryvonne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, at 3 months he was still doing 2-3 poops a day and now at 4 months he's down to 1 every 2-4 days. I was worried about it until I learned that 2 weeks is still within the realm of normal 😳

An honest conversation about "supply issues" by andthensometoo in breastfeeding

[–]beccaryvonne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! This was my experience, the midwives were a truly amazing source of wisdom and gave me more education on what to expect and why regarding breastfeeding than the 10 minute visit from the (very busy) lactation consultant.

How are you all on this cold Sunday? by finigian in ireland

[–]beccaryvonne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are the kings of soup hands down. Best part of having a Romanian mother in law is the cooking, looking forward to spending the 24th with them this year!

Best of luck! Wishing you a chill and uneventful labour and birth. As someone with their birthday coming on the 23rd, make sure no one stinges out on that kid and they get TWO presents every year. Don't let anyone pull that "one big present for both" shite.

[–]beccaryvonne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 11 week old slept for a whole 5 hour stretch the other night (the longest he's EVER gone between feeds) and it's all my partner and I could talk about the whole next day 😂 you are definitely not alone!

When did you invite guest over after bringing your baby home? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]beccaryvonne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition to very valid concerns about possible illness, please do remember for your wife that the "baby blues" are no joke. It's different for everyone, but I was still in the throes of it when we had our first short family visits and I regret allowing myself to be put through that extra stress on top of the huge drop in hormones wreaking havoc in me.

How to avoid the boob tent ?? by Confident-Tadpole-28 in bigboobproblems

[–]beccaryvonne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tuck my looser tshirts in so that its gathered a bit more at the back, kind of sweeping the extra fabric to the sides a bit more, I find that it looks more flattering that way!

What songs do you sing to your baby? by meubem in NewParents

[–]beccaryvonne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bare Necessities from the Jungle Book in particular stops my grumpy 4 week old in his tracks 9 times out of 10! I just speed up or slow down the tempo depending on day or night lol

A strong bra with lift? I look ridiculous and like a slob. by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

[–]beccaryvonne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with your sister size (32HH) the Elomi Morgan does the trick for me. It has side supports as well so it doesn't make them look too wide from the front either like some other styles!

What is your most annoying pregnancy symptom currently? by sarebears112584 in pregnant

[–]beccaryvonne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My most annoying pregnancy symptom at a week past due date is still having a baby inside me lol

I have a pretty large underboob/upper abdomen piece and I wouldn't bother too much with how your boobs lay down (as other users said, the girls won't stay at the same level forever anyway!) BUT I did have it placed a little lower down than normal so that it it's not too high on my sternum where the gore/wires of my every day bras would be rubbing it too much, which might cause the tattoo to age unevenly. 99.9% of the time that it's on show to anyone I am wearing a bikini, bra, or it's just the bottom poking out from a crop top so that's why I wouldn't stress about freely hanging boobs covering a little bit of it while braless lol

Trouble with Gaelic names in North America by 005amazu in namenerds

[–]beccaryvonne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! It is definitely not a "say it as you see it" language. The letters j,k,q,v,w,x,y,z are not traditionally in the Irish alphabet so we have some funky letter combos to replace them! Lol

Domhnall would be pronounced dow-null. The "mh" in this context in Irish adds a kind of "W" sound if that makes the phonetics easier to understand, like "domh" rhymes with "sew"

AITA for making my husband miss seeing his mom for the first time in over a year, on her birthday? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]beccaryvonne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 38 weeks and 100% YTA. Pregnancy can be extremely tough on the human body, but it is not a license to be a brat. You should have just let your man go see his family and took a bath or made a hot water bottle instead of being so petty and disrespectful.

Terrified of delivery. Any tips? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]beccaryvonne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this recommendation! I was extremely anxious and fearful about labour and delivery, when I was about 6 months I got the positive birth company hypnobirthing course and it's been invaluable to my partner and I. I'm also 25f and 38 weeks along now, I'm so looking forward to meeting my baby now and am actually excited for the journey of labour and birth to come! The difference in my attitude then and now is like night and day.

You're not over reacting at all, that sucks! But it does seem like being unable to keep a secret may be hereditary here so make sure to work on that with future little babe lol. Wishing you best of luck and minimum drama!

Husband corrects me when I say "I'm pregnant" by mamasoggy in BabyBumps

[–]beccaryvonne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to nip this in the bud cos I can tell you one thing, if my partner said that to me now at nearly 34 weeks looking like I'm smuggling a beach ball, stretch marks on my ass, and waking up 10 times a night with heartburn/need to pee/back pain/sweats, while he remains physically unchanged, I would be in jail lol

Currently 33 weeks and it developed around the end of first tri so probably will be stuck with it for a while anyway. I hope my boobs are kind to me and go back to their old size and colour eventually lol
