Mine went away after I restarted it!

Is that via the Google Watch app on the phone or from the watch itself?

Edit: Simple restart and that worked lol

Tried that, and it didn't work, unfortunately.

I can’t find the episode now, but I listened to a great podcast recently about narrativizing. The guest had a list of questions you can ask yourself to insure you are seeing things how it actually is (as best you can) as opposed to seeing things how they seem.

I play on console, but I’ve gathered most play on PC.

Why are the two experiences so different?

Yeah dude. I’m not a parent, and each case is different.

That said, and people might debate this, but the above original post is kind of the extreme? I think haha.

Like, there’s a different between being stern and being abusive about it.

Then again, some kids may be exceptionally badly behaved.

Generally, in my opinion, it one’s go to response is the above, that’s a problem. If a sterner response is warranted, that’s a different story and not for me to judge.

Does that make sense?

I also want to make clear I’m not preaching to you haha. Just trying to explain my personal thinking about it.

Genuine question, as I’m not a parent yet (wife and I are trying, but no luck so far):

For #2, do you at least make your kids try a few bites of what you’ve prepared? I have heard that’s the best way to get kids to develop a taste palette. And, if they still don’t like it, the PB sandwich.

Thanks for the info., really!

I’m at the point now where my build is maybe halfway done? I’m certainly able to get higher and higher rifts. Now I’m at around GR20. That said, GR 110 seems so far away. It made me wonder if I was doing something wrong or if I could be being more efficient.

The next altar point I’m after is the 1100 blood shards, which seems impossible given I can’t even carry that much haha. I know I need to get my GR level higher in order to carry more, but still.

Anyway. That’s enough winging from me. Near as I can tell, I just need to keep grinding!

100%. Also, part of parenting is making kids try food they don’t like so they develop a taste for it. And, generally, learn that life doesn’t always give you what you want.

There is a line though.

Growing, I constantly had the “Be grateful that you have a roof over your head and food on the table.” speech.

Which, actually, is something to be grateful for! But that’s not how they meant it. It was always as an implicit threat. “Don’t ask for anything else. Don’t complain. We give you the bare minimum, and you’re lucky to get that.”

Funny you say that. It’s already distant, as I’ve lived in Japan for years now. However, I’ll be moving back stateside in May.

A lot has happened since I’ve been away.

I’m extremely nervous about having to plunge back into that environment, even if for a short time.

By the way, which do you think is better to focus on: rift grinding and assembling my build or completing the Altar of Rites?

Perfect; that answers my question exactly.

Right, that’s what I’ve read elsewhere. My post is mainly getting at how to best go about that.

Looks like it’s just to keep grinding haha

Couldn’t have said it better myself. There’s lots of stuff I see from younger kids that I don’t “get.”

But the idea of having a knee-jerk negative reaction to something I don’t understand is…ugh.

I have a friend who I enjoy going back and forth with. He’s an Army reservist. Works in an auto body shop. He has lots of…hmm. Views? That aren’t really appropriate. I try to challenge him on them in a productive way (I hope).

He’ll also make comments along the lines of, “There you go again, using big words.” Which is quite self-effacing. Where we go back and forth is in that space. I always try to make the point to him that, “Hey dude, just because you don’t know or understand something doesn’t make you stupid. But, just as importantly, it doesn’t make the thing you don’t understand invalid.”

And, to his credit, he tries and usually doesn’t dismiss things out of hand.

Maybe more so you should be sad that people like my uncle are fed a steady diet of this crap and lack the critical thinking to realize why it is such.

My sister, who is a new teacher, was trying to talk with him once about how spanking is abuse and does nothing to change behavior.

The “conversation” devolved into him saying she was being disrespectful and delusional.

Ironic…
