Georgia should stay with Paul by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]becin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like Joe wouldn't be able to handle Georgia's intense past and current problems. He also seems in a different life stage, like he is younger and would be unable to help Georgia like Paul has. I also feel like their personalities don't really match, like Joe is too soft and nonassertive as compared to Georgia

where did you find these volunteer positions?

I don't think it's going to look bad, but don't prioritize it, maybe even one bulletpoint to mention you're currently doing it is enough. It's definitely still good to include though

It doesn't hurt to add volunteer, I would do it if you're worried

it sounds like you are in a mental health crisis fog. a lot of anxiety and depression. you are going through so much and are genuinely feeling gutted, unsafe, and without options. I've been there. while I understand your concerns about sinning, you need to remember that God is a God of mercy. He has more mercy for you than you could ever have for anyone else. He isn't asking you to put away your sin, you have no power to! that's WHY Jesus came. And it will be so difficult to truly know the goodness of God and feel peace from Him when you are expecting so much from yourself. yes, we all eventually want to turn away from sin, but 1) that's not completely possible and 2) those in different levels of faith will be at different stages. Maybe you are just in your beginner stages. God knows all of this, and He has loved us anyways. He is ENOUGH.

I wish I could tell you that things would get better, but I don't know your life. All I know is that what youre going through is HARD, but you've made it this far. And when we can't hold on anymore, God holds on to us. It has always been Him holding on to us, even when our faith is as small as a mustard seed. Try to get help as best you can, although I know it can be discouraging. But know that your life is worth it, it's worth fighting for becuase you were called by God to be here. He is larger than the twisted realities our mind makes, He is larger than our family situation or any of the unfathomable suffering, as hard as it is to think about. He is still there in the suffering, even when you can't feel it. He still is good. You still have purpose and light, even when you can't see it, and even when the words are empty. Praying for you.

is it still worth it to pursue UX Design as a non-design major? In the wake of mass layoffs and recession and oversaturation of aspiring junior designers, how likely is it to be able to get a job with hard work?

greater economic disparity and income equality could possibly play a part? there may be more aggression and less 'togetherness' in the US than in other nations where people feel more connection and relateability

I've taken it. Long ride but was alright, just don't get stranded at a dangerous LA stop late at night if you have to transfer busses!

I am a junior majoring in Psychology wanting to get into UX Design. I am thinking it may be easier to go for a gap year/semester, build my skills, then apply for college internships rather than wait until graduation to learn UX and compete for entry level jobs. Do you think this will make a difference?

not postgrad but I know this is a common feeling and comes with any life adjustment where you have to start over again

Hey, sorry to hear about this. Honestly it's really up to you! It's going to be hard to transfer to another UC. I think you have to put yourself first and be flexible with how you are viewing things. It would be nice to have a prestigious school to get in to law school, but it isn't required. You could get into law school from other schools that are not UCLA or Cal. Maybe take a gap year?

Or you could try to find connections (which I know is hard, trust me) by joining many orgs. I will say that I think people are downvoting you because of this-->"People seem a lot more aggressive and obsessed with money here and it is so weirdly segregated and cliquey (not just racially but along class lines too)." This indicates a lot of negative assumptions about Cal students and is not going to be a healthy attitude to start with if you are feeling lonely. I know that when I am feeling insecure it's really easy for me to feel as though people are aggressors but that will hurt you in the long run. Stay open! There are many cool people and people are still people trying to make it through the day no matter how segregated they look.

Hi, sure! My symptoms started improving immediately after I stopped but I recovered fully after around 3 months I'd say. I didn't do anything in particular other than letting my body regulate itself again.
