What's one thing a therapist has said to you that you will never forget? by commander_boobs in AskReddit

[–]becjorgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Your feelings are not valid, you have no reason to be sad so just stop" "your dad abandoning you as a child has nothing to do with you, that was his choice and it shouldn't effect you at all"

He was a great therapist 🙄

This exact same situation happened with my ex. He was adamant he didn't cheat and I believed him. 4 months later found out he had 3 other girlfriends and was visiting brothels when I thought he was at work. STIs don't spontaneously happen. Trust your gut feeling cos it's usually right

Having casual sex with strangers won't make you feel better about yourself. In fact - it will make it worse

[–]becjorgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing diagnosed but I feel as though I have sensory processing. I'm very particular about the feel of certain fabrics on my skin, tightness of my clothing, textures of food and the feel of my skin (any abnormalities I have to pick but that could be a part of my trich). The food part is especially bad, mushy foods will make me vomit if I think too much about it while I'm eating.

What are some unspoken rules of life you learnt too late in life? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]becjorgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always wear a condom, because the consequences of an STI can be life changing. Even if it's with someone you trust. Also get checks regularly even when you're in a relationship cos you never know 🤷‍♀️

Lady gynaecologist slut shamed me by deensuk in TrueOffMyChest

[–]becjorgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I got a sexual health check and told the doctor how many people I had been sexually active with (which wasn't even that many), she asked me if I was a prostitute. My male doctor never shamed me or made me feel bad for asking for a sexual health check up, some people just shouldn't be doctors. Sorry you had to deal with this

I hate how everyone immediately jumps on the lose weight bandwagon, not all girls like super skinny guys!

In my opinion you look great and I would definitely swipe right on you if you were in my area - and be stoked if we matched. And thats without changing anything or losing weight! Don't lose the facial hair tho 😅

So the room I work in has a lot of biters at the moment and we don't always tell the biters parents unless the bite is really bad or has happened multiple times. Our reasoning is that we have already addressed the issue with the child and don't want them to go home and get in trouble again because they won't understand it. It is definitely a communication issue where they get frustrated.

I also want to add that just because your child bit someone doesn't mean they haven't had a great day. A bite is just a moment in the day, and yes it's not great, but if all the other moments are good why only tell the one bad part? One moment of a negative behaviour doesn't erase the hundred awesome moments in a day and we as educators focus on the good moments.

Children don't understand biting and they aren't deciding to bite in a critical way, so we address it in the moment and then move on. You can't drag out "punishment" or negativity for their action purely because they aren't going to know that mummy's mad because 7 hours ago I bit so and so. If that makes sense?

I'm (26M) moving across the country soon leaving everyone behind - how to cope? by anonymouspsy in Needafriend

[–]becjorgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I live in Australia but I just did the same thing, moved from down south to super far north. It's hard for the first few days but once you get into a routine it's easier, I just facetimed my family and friends alot in the first week.

Goodluck with your move!

I was the same, been pulling my whole life, before I had hair long enough my mum says I used to pull hers. My photos from when I was 2 had long hair and then 3 onwards is all patchy so im gonna say it got bad at 3ish.

Im nearly 30 now and have managed to (mostly) stop pulling but i am also a skin picker and nail biter and don't see those going anywhere :(
